Hands down (pun intended) the best manicure I’ve ever had. I work with my hands and my nails were really bad, resembling claws. The lady spent a great deal of time to make me not have “man hands,” and after nearly 2 weeks of steady gardening and construction projects, the polish is just beginning to show signs of wear. This place is always busy and now I see why. Definitely returning more often now!

I made an appointment today to have dip powder removed. I did have an appointment and planned ample time. The person removing my dip filed off the majority and then pried off the dip powder with an artificial nail tip, causing tremendous pain. Also in this process it ripped my nail clean off which very much hurt and I said so in the moment to which I received an answer of “it’s fine”. Then another of my nails tore at the edge, and it was decided to just glue it back together. I was out in less than 7 minutes, none of my dip was soaked off, and I complained many times of pain. My natural nails are absolutely destroyed and I have found many more cracks throughout the day. Additionally, not even all of the dip is off. I just moved to the area and will never ever return here. I genuinely left crying due to the pain caused and had a horrible experience, during which I complained of pain many times. Do not go here if you value your natural nails.

My gel nails with a manicure, along with my 3 year olds gel nails (no manicure) cost $62 without a tip! Not reflective of the pricing on the website. I’m not one to argue and felt a bit taken advantage of. My nails came out nice, but the swipe from my bank account was not.

VIP nails is the only nail salon in Durango I visit, and have been a loyal customer for 2+ years due to their incredible service, friendly techs, and attention to detail. Sony is my favorite nail artist I see at VIP nails, he always creates the perfect look I was wanting, and is always so kind. Sony’s nail artwork is displayed on the photo attached! VIP is my favorite nail salon in town!

Critical: QualityI’ve been wanting to get my nails done since I’ve moved to Durango and found VIP nails and since it was rated 4.1 stars, I had decided to give them a change! The lady who owned the place greeted me and was nice. However, the guy who did my nails was “rushing”, he didn’t trim my nails nor take off the dead skin and cuticles. I asked for a coffin shaped nail and he filed it too skinny. The glue to my nail got stuck to my skin and my skin peeled off. He layered the nail polish so much, my nails aren’t even, I was so disappointed and asked to redo them. He did, but it was rushed again. Oh and while filing down my nails, he filed my skin as well. My hand wasn’t lotioned as well. I gave up there and he over charged me so a plain white colored acrylic nails. Hahahahhaha! I’ve been wanting to get my nails done since I’ve moved to Durango and found VIP nails and since it was rated 4.1 stars, I had decided to give them a change! VIP Nails is the only salon I’ll visit in Durango! Sony is a rockstar with his work and nail art (the artist of the attached photos), and the entire staff is phenomenally talented and kind!

I made an appointment about a week in advance and they were able to get me seated as soon as I got there, but that’s where the good part stops. I got a gel manicure, but the nail tech seemed very rushed the whole time. He kept getting polish all over my fingers and seemed irritated when I asked to shape my nails. He ended up cutting/filing them SUPER short to the point one of my nails is now in the quick and painful. There are bubbles in the polish, and just very sloppy overall. It’s only been 3 days since my appt and the polish is already starting to lift & peel.

Unfortunately, just got home and realized on closer inspection just how horrible my pedicure is. The polish looks like it was slopped on, the line to the cuticle is jagged, not straight. Very disappointed. I had a pedicure done earlier in the summer that was much better. The technician that did this pedicure was completely distracted and was texting on her phone during the process.
