Critical: QualityCame in asking for a LOB/long bob…my hair ended up being soo choppy, had uneven lengths all around, and didn’t even look like a lob. I spent around $120 then had to go to another salon today and spend another $100 just for the mistake to be fixed.Service: Hairstyling

Came in asking for a LOB/long bob…my hair ended up being soo choppy, had uneven lengths all around, and didn’t even look like a lob. I spent around $120 then had to go to another salon today and spend another $100 just for the mistake to be fixed. Hairstyling

Critical: ProfessionalismI’m really sad about my experience here. I’m very simple in my expectations and in my style. I came in for partial highlights and a trim. From the beginning, the stylist was very unprofessional, talking to me about how she “is not looking forward to her next client because her hair is really curly and she wants a whole head of highlights” among other things, which was uncomfortable and made me feel bad. My stylist’s next client showed up before my hair wash, cut, or style, so all those services felt incredibly rushed and like my hair was being pulled out of my scalp. I was never asked if I wanted layers or face framing, which I did. While blow-drying, my stylist repeatedly vocalized how frustrating my knotty hair was for her before saying literally “I give up.” After coming home, my husband found that the cut was obviously uneven and pointed out chunks of hair that got missed. The highlights are silvery white colored against my dark brown hair, which is honestly very strange and nothing like the honey-colored highlight look I had showed them.My Groupon (partial, cut, and blow dry) somehow did not cover the price of the entire service, even after I made the appointment with their knowledge of it and there was no disclosure that there would be additional charges. This was after they requested that I return the Groupon for a refund and pay them directly because it’s easier for them to not use Groupon, and after I moved up my appointment time for them upon their request. From the beginning, the stylist was very unprofessional, talking to me about how she “is not looking forward to her next client because her hair is really curly and she wants a whole head of highlights” among other things, which was uncomfortable and made me feel bad. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI have bounced around from hair salon to hair salon, my last wonderful person decided on a career change. If you drive JFK a lot, you know there are salons and spas every 10 ft or so, I have been to 4 in a 1 mile span. Upper cut salon came by word of mouth from my daughter, she took her friend there to get a cut. So I made an appt to get Balayage, cut, eyebrow wax. Grace did a wonderful job on my hair, she was kind, respectful and very good at her profession. I will definitely be back after I recover from my surgery. I can not remember the wonderful lady that did my eyebrows, she was so sweet and did an awesome job. I have bounced around from hair salon to hair salon, my last wonderful person decided on a career change. If you drive JFK a lot, you know there are salons and spas every 10 ft or so, I have been to 4 in a 1 mile span. Upper cut salon came by word of mouth from my daughter, she took her friend there to get a cut. So I made an appt to get Balayage, cut, eyebrow wax. Grace did a wonderful job on my hair, she was kind, respectful and very good at her profession. I will definitely be back after I recover from my surgery. Mark was rude from the get go and I explained in detail and with pictures how I wanted it cut. His eye rolls and sighs and complete unprofessionalism had me in tears and he was just rude and not listening to my concerns on how he was cutting my hair. Maybe he was just having a bad day but his bad day lead to me having the worst haircut I have ever had in my forty years of haircuts. His one bad day didn’t compare to the months it took for my hair to finally grow enough that I can now have a true professional fix it and have the cut I wanted in the first place. I had to wear a LARGE gathered fabric headband to cover 50% of my hair for months which lead to my hair thinning tremendously. So do your research and find a stylist who will discuss with you what would work best with your type of hair. Someone who cares about your hair enough to listen to you and truly understand what it is you want the outcome to be. He may be a great hairstylist but not in my case. Do your research. I know pictures of what I want my hair to look like depends on my hair but also the hairstylist. Mark was rude from the get go and I explained in detail and with pictures how I wanted it cut. His eye rolls and sighs and complete unprofessionalism had me in tears and he was just rude and not listening to my concerns on how he was cutting my hair.
