Long overdue, a huge THANK YOU to Debi, the salon owner for seeing me on short notice around the holidays, + her discretion, “secret garden.” Debi was welcoming, kind, reassuring, shared tips & A bonus- free brush. I am grateful for assistance at a salon that cares about their clients. I attempted for 4 months to obtain a product from a Whitney Way area hair salon on the west side of Madison to no avail. Highly recommend this salon and their services. Prices were also more reasonable & service TOP NOTCH!

I just want to say that my experience at the salon was great. I got a spray tan and my hair done by Casey right before my friends wedding and Casey was wonderful. Spray tans can be kind of uncomfortable when someone is personally spraying you but Casey made me feel so confortable and did a great job. I can never get an even spray tan and I don’t think I have one uneven spot. I have been going to Casey for my hair for years and never had any complaints. She always has the best ideas and gives me the royal treatment when I see her. The latest experience I had was getting eye lash extensions by Allison. I barley any lashes usually and after getting them it looked amazing. Allison made them look so real and perfect. They lasted about 3 weeks and I should have went in and got them redone but just ran out of time!!! But I can’t wait to make a new appointment to get my lashes and my hair done again!!! Go see Casey and Allison!

I used to go to this salon growing up and loved the atmosphere and talent. I was so sad when Debbie temporarily closed the salon. I went back a few months ago for a bridal party! They were all AMAZING considering all of us girls had thick, long, and a lot of hair! They were able to work together to get us exactly what we wanted. I was so impressed that I will keep coming back. My recent visits have been with Casey, (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) and she is so professional, meticulous, and has a friendly and inviting mannerism. The wax that they use is the best since it doesn’t irritate my overly sensitive skin and with their technique the redness goes away quickly with no bumps!! So glad that this place is opened again :).

I spent 3 hours and over $100. for a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure. Within 5 days the polish came off a fingernail. Having a gala that evening, I stopped in and requested it be repaired. The owner said return in 2 hours and it could be done. I returned on time and waited 20 minutes. No one greeted me. I finally went to the owner and told her I needed to leave. She apologized but offered no compensation. The shop had 3 clients and 3 stylists. I can see why this shop closed earlier. I will never return and would not endorse it. Find a business with skill and values clientele.

I wanted to get my hair & makeup done there for my wedding ceremony. & I’m glad they got me in last minute, the way I wanted my hair was perfect just how I want it but my makeup though. That’s a different story. It was nothing like how I want it, the picture I showed her was nothing like the makeup she did on my face. I was so disappointed & upset. I don’t think I will ever come here again. On my wedding day though? She made me looked like I had sooo much makeup on & my eyeshadow looked like I had racoon eyes. I was so mad. I left there an hour before my ceremony & I was not happy at all.

I just had the most insane experience at The Ultimate. I am actually a hairstylist at a different salon on the West side of Madison, but I was given a gift card to The Ultimate for a facial. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00am and I arrived at about 9:45am for my service. I quickly noticed that all of the lights were off and the door was locked. There was another girl waiting in the parking lot so I asked her if she was waiting for an appointment also. She told me that she actually worked there and it was her first day and she wasn’t sure what was going on. I then realized that she was the person who was supposed to give me my facial. She was very nice and I could tell she felt really bad so I told her not to worry I would just wait in my car for a few mins and see if someone shows up. She then told me that she had been waiting already for over an hour. After about 20 mins I was finally let in to the salon and was greeted by the owner. She told me that the girl who was supposed to be doing my facial had left. I explained to her that I had been given a gift card and at this point after all of my trouble and waiting I would just prefer to get my money back. She then went in to along story about how the FBI is investigating for fake gift cards that have been issued online. She asked me where I got the gift card and when it was purchased and wanted all of the info off of it. I felt as though I was being interrogated! All I wanted to do was use my gift card and get a relaxing facial! She told me that people had been selling fake gift cards to her salon online and I assured her that my mom had purchased the gift card in her salon, not online. She was slurring her words and seemed very our of sorts. After some exchanging of words I realized that I was not going to get anywhere with her so I gathered my things and left. I am not sure what I am going to do now because I have a $75 gift card that I have no interest in using. Being a hairstylist myself, I know that we would never talk or treat our customers this way. If you are thinking of trying this place I would strongly urge you find somewhere else.

I’m VERY picky about my hair and couldn’t find a stylist who could give me a quality haircut that I liked. A few of my co-workers suggested I try Brooklyn at Ultimate so I gave her a shot. I am VERY impressed with her. My cut is always great and she does what I want not what she thinks I should do. Because I’m on a budget I do my own color and have had stylists give me a hard time about it in the past because they want the business. Brooklyn never does this, in fact she even told me that my color looks good! Over the past two years she’s been nothing but great and I’m definately a loyal client now.
