Dr. Townsend’s staff did an excellent job from contacting me to move my appointment up by 3 weeks, to providing expert instruction on how to care for the procedure site at home. Dr. Townsend has been my dermatologist for the past 7 years and his attention to detail has been critical to my continued health and well-being. Dr. Townsend’s ability to explain what he is doing and speak with the patient during the procedure is commendable and helps me feel at ease the entire time. He instills confidence that the procedure will be successful. His staff and nurses are all very well trained and qualified and they take the time to treat each patient with respect and dignity. The entire staff for Dr. Townsend were wonderful and extremely competent. Dr. Townsend is a first rate dermatologist and surgeon. He removed a quite large squamous cell carcinoma and achieved clear margins on the initial removal and thus it required no further surgery. He explains things with detail and clarity and has a great demeanor which puts the patient at ease. He has my highest recommendation and one would be hard pressed to find a better dermatology surgeon.

From the moment we walked into his office, we were impressed by the courtesy and professionalism of his staff. Meeting Dr. Townsend whose warmth, personable manner and clear expertise was so reassuring, immediately relieved all the concerns we had. Dr. Townsend & his team took the time to make sure I understood everything that happened during my Mohs procedure. He also gave me information about basal cell carcinoma and ways to try and protect myself in the future. Dr. Townsend very calmly and carefully explained every step of the Mohs surgery as it was going on, which calmed me down. There is nothing pleasant about having your face cut into, but he and his assistant made it as easy as possible. Only complaint: needs better music. The piped-in elevator music was not good.
