I have been braiding my hair at Tracy’s for two years now and they are the most reliable and affordable hair braiding salon I have seen in the Boston area.

Critical: PunctualityI’ve tried them twice, both times with an appointment made. Both times the stylists were unable to take me on time. First time, she was doing someone else’s hair even though I asked for the first time slot. Second time, the shop wasn’t even open at the time of my appointment and I waited an hour to start. The second time, I was charged a higher price, even though it was the exact same style, length and hair. And although, a price was given to me at the start(again, higher than my previous appointment), I was then charged EXTRA “for the hair”.The braiders are good at what they do but the experience was unprofessional and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be returning.Service: BraidsI’ve tried them twice, both times with an appointment made. Both times the stylists were unable to take me on time. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueIf zero stars were possible I would give it. I came to this facility for simple cornrolls or straight backs on my natural hair. My natural hair is long, about 12 inches. The washing process was fine no complaints. The issue came when an inexperienced young women attempted to blow dry my hair she was literally yanking on my ends randomly. She did not take time to section and blow dry my hair like a professional. She was yanking and pulling on my hair until the point I was crying. The pain was excruciating. On top of this, the owner, Tracy, who was watching the young girl struggle had the nerve to tell me why come here if I am tender headed. That is when I had enough. I turned to Tracy and told her this young woman doesn’t know what she’s doing, I’ve have been to PLENTY of salons and have not had my hair ripped out during the drying process. There is no reason a Nigerian owned hair salon should have no experience drying and detangling long and natural hair. At this point Tracy issued me an apology and took my money with no discount for the unprofessionalism. The braiding process was fine, not painful at all.Service: BraidsIf zero stars were possible I would give it. I came to this facility for simple cornrolls or straight backs on my natural hair. Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueCharged me $100 for braids that took less than an hour with only 4 inches of hair the bands on the end of the braids fell off with my durag! Go somewhere else you’ll probably get nicer braids better quality and a free durag for $50Service: Braids
