So my thoughts on this shop is it’s awesome love the cuts they give because it’s always clean. They offer so many different experiences and it does not take long to get a haircut. But even tho I come here often to get a haircut I feel like the fact that I’m not Hispanic or speak Spanish well most the employees don’t want to cut my hair. I don’t think it’s a race thing just they don’t like to which is why I put it at 4 and not 5 stars. I still say go to this shop tho.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went into the shop today around 1:40 and the only person working there rudely told me that he had to “make a run” and that he was locking the doors for a few hours. The business hours clearly state online that they are open until 4pm. Handle your personal business outside of operating hours folks, just a suggestion. I will not be coming back.

I was hopeful about this place because of the previous reviews but unfortunately my experience wasn’t so. I say this mainly because of the language barrier. I told the barber how I wanted her to cut my hair and she kept saying “yes” or “ok” before I even finished saying my request. It was obvious that she had no clue on what I was asking for. She started putting product in my hair even before I even saw the cut. Perhaps if I knew Spanish it would’ve been better since she only said about 6 words to me the whole time I was there while she carried on with full conversations in Spanish with the other barbers. Her edging wasn’t very good either since my sideburns came out different lengths and widths. I still gave her a tip since you never know what another person is going thru at that moment. I won’t be returning though.

I was looking for a place to get a more detailed haircut on Google and decided to try this place. Alonso went far beyond my expectations and won me over from Sportsclips. I highly recommend The Modern Barbershop! Their is a Salon next door for the Lady’s too!

Huge thanks to Alonso for always being their for me in skill and accommodation. This is by far the cleanest and friendliest barbershop in Metairie. I mean, the level of talent and skill is exactly what I was looking for in all the barbers. Being able to set up early appointments, and their professionalism is the type of feeling I’m looking for. Being in the military, respect and professionalism is the key to our mission. I always have a feeling that it’s theirs too!

The 1st time I went in there it was great however today I walked in no one said a word. I thought to my self the where busy they where no one said a word to me in the 10min I was in there. Then other customers came in and got service only thing you guys should have said can we help you. Now I need to find a other place help your customer instead of think a place of business is a play ground.

I was in from out of town and got a great cut here. They’ve only been open for a short time and are still ironing the place out, but it’s cozy nonetheless. They stayed open late to accommodate and I ended up getting a damn nice cut! Thank you!
