Lisa has been in the hair industry since 1989. Being able to open her own space has always been a dream of hers, and opening The Barber Shack in September 2017 has brought that dream to life!

Had an amazing experience at The Barber Shack with Lisa! I advised in my booking process that I have a disability and would need to wear my mask for most of the haircut. She was so helpful in making me feel comfortable! She donned her mask, gloves, and even a face shield so she could allow me to feel safe enough to take my mask off for her to work her magic on my huge beard. New to the area, but have a barber I can count on going forward. Her customer service and talent are next level!Thank you Lisa, you ROCK!

I’ve been in Frederick for 2 years and have searched far and wide for a great barber shop experience that felt welcoming for trans folks. Holy smokes am I glad to have found Lisa at the Barber Shack! From the moment I walked into her little shop I knew I was in good hands. Lisa talked to me about what I wanted with my hair and beard, talked through options, what is possible or not with my hair type/beard growth. I left with the best haircut I’ve ever had, a tidy happy beard and will absolutely be a returning customer. Lisa is an amazing human and a damn amazing barber!

I found this charming place on google for my boyfriend who was looking for a new barbershop , we are new to Frederick. He is very picky , but Lisa listened carefully to everything he wanted and he will definitely be back . What he asked for is what he left with. I’ve been coming to Lisa since I moved to the area at the beginning of Summer last year and I haven’t looked back. She is a consummate professional at her craft. I came to her with the plan to grow my hair out and she has helped me with selecting products and advice on how to achieve the desired look. Beyond this, she’s also done great work with eye brow waxing and beard trims. Can’t recommend her enough. You truly get what you pay for with Lisa: high quality!
