I usually go to Stephens for my Brazilian Blowouts and always loved them. So I thought I would give it a chance and get my hair cut and colored. I made an appointment with Amy. I absolutely loved what she did. She listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly the hi lites that I wanted and I loved them! I will definitely go back!

I waited a very long time to write this review, as I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to write a negative review seeing as so many people have had such wonderful experiences, but I feel the need to share so maybe this can be corrected. I got my hair highlighted for the very first time at Stephen Szabo Salon in October of 2020. Prior to this appointment I had never lightened my hair before and was very excited for a change after having a baby earlier in the year and just needing to do something for myself. I absolutely loved how it turned out- it was exactly what I had hoped for and I left with a beautiful cut as well. So naturally, I was very excited to get my hair done again when it was time to touch up my roots in January. I had my hair done by the same stylist who did my hair in October so I had all the confidence in her since she had done such a great job the first time. We decided to brighten up my highlights a little more this time. When it came time to rinse the lightener out of my hair at the shampoo bowl, I was watching in the mirror and I saw a chunk of my hair come out with one of the foils. I panicked inside, but I didn’t want to say anything because I felt uncomfortable speaking up and I was nervous being assertive in asking the stylist to be more gentle when pulling the foils out. When I got home, I saw the chunk of hair that had came out was in the very front of my hair- the “money piece”. There is no way to hide it. It is so short I can’t even put it behind my ears (even 5 months later) and it is a significantly big piece of hair. For reference, my hair is long and to the bottom of my shoulder blades. No layers and no bangs. So you can imagine how bad this looks. It is now June and my roots are so grown out but I am so afraid to get it done again out of fear someone else will fry off my hair. It really took the excitement out of getting my hair done. I know people make mistakes and that’s why I chose not to include the stylist’s name in this public review. But unfortunately I will not be coming back to this salon and I have another appointment somewhere else in two weeks. Please be careful with people’s hair.

When the South Hills location had to close, we gladly followed them out to their McMurray location. The staff is all incredible, they are patient and caring of my kids, and I have had great experiences every visit with several of the hairdressers for both myself and my children. We also love the McMurray location. The building it easy to get to, parking is convenient, and it is clean and pleasant feeling inside. My kids enjoy riding the elevator up from the lobby to the salon.

I used to go here a lot when I was younger. They were good then. Tried to maketwo appointments today and the receptionist was so rude, I’m taking my business elsewhere. I can’t speak on the current quality of their services for that reason. And they get the extra star because of the past experiences.

I’ve been going to Leighann for 8+ years & she is wonderful. Recently the interior was treated to a much needed remodel with new chairs, floors, paint, layout, & the like. Pricing is about what one would pay at a salon & might be a bit more competitive. However, if it were not for my stylist I would probably go elsewhere. The owner has berated his female staff in front of clients on more than one occasion to the point of the women walking away in tears. Hence the 3 stars.

Really upset with this Salon. I had an online consultation with Alicia, showing pictures of color and extensions. She told me to come in for a proper consultation and to bring in my extensions to see the length and to see the style so they could give me a price for the service. I was told if I scheduled with Alicia that it would be cheaper because she is not as experienced which I was ok with. Once I took the time out of my day and cancelled previously made appointments I was severely disappointed when I arrived and was told that Alicia does not in fact color extensions. And if she did I would be charged for “double heads”. Again I had already told her exactly what I wanted while consulting with her on Instagram. All I was offered after their miscommunication was a call from the owner of the studio. I still have not received a phone call. Poor customer service from thier end. I recommend going elsewhere.

My daughter just had the worst experience at this salon. We called in looking to make and appointment in the next week or so for a very basic cut. They gave her an immediate appointment then charged a teen $52 dollars for a very basic straight cut. I found this salon to be completely misleading and will never return.
