There are so many nail options in the area–choose any of the others. Not sure what has happened with this salon, but the quality of service has declined. My no-chip mani chipped within a couple of days. They fixed it, but its the hassle of having to return. They no longer do my nails. Went yesterday for a no-chip pedicure. $45 for results that look like I did them myself. Didn’t notice until I got home that it looks like 2 different colors-esp on the big toe. The young girl did my service both times. If you go, definitely request a different tech. She’s on her phone and talking throughout. The atmosphere was not relaxing at all. Star nails has lost another customer.

Pricey but nice & spacious salon. I paid $55 for no chip acrylic fulset, coffin (1 color/nothing fancy) and $45 for basic pedi no chip. So no chip to them means an extra $15. The staff is very social & friendly but the tech who did my nails asked me for a “nice tip”. Here’s a tip, don’t ask for a tip lol at least not with words but with your service. The following day after leaving the shop, a nail broke and so I returned that same day and they repaired it at no additional cost. I could see myself giving this shop a second chance simply because they were engaging with their customers and not just talking amongst themselves. My final tip would be to be more consistent with your advertised hours- your business cards say you close at 8pm but your store says that you close at 7pm.

Critical: Cleanliness, Quality, ValueI paid for a dip powder nail and was charged for dip powder. They used acrylic powder and a week 1/2 later, my nails are cracking. He used dip powder for the top coat. Who knows what else they lie about. Do not pay for their deceitful nail service.

I have been very DISPLEASED! With the nail technician Paul. He twisted my fingers where I felt my finger popped. He’s always chastising me on how I need to put my hands. He jerked my hands several times when my hand isn’t position the way he wants it. Like he’s talking to a kid. ore other the day of my nail service I wanted the yellow nail polish on my nails. Paul tells me he don’t like yellow. He had his wife color my nails. Paul is harsh, and opinionated on your choice of nail color for your nails. I have had ENOUGH! I pay my money and tip him. I don’t deserve to be disrespected. I WILL NEVER! STEP BACK! IN STAR NAILS IN MATTESON, IL again!

This is an amazing place. All the people are talented at what they do and do it well. They always talk with me to and aren’t on there phones or something. It’s such a different experience then any other nail salon I’ve been in. It’s now my first choice every time! Keep it up everyone at star nails I appreciate you.
