Always a good experience at Solar Nails in Audubon. Amy does a great job. All the ladies are good at their jobs and very courteous. They’re the best in the area at acrylics & can do elaborate designs. Photos are my personal nails done at Solar.

Kim did my nails yesterday. I usually get nervous asking for something other than a plain color, but I had a design set in my mind to try. She seemed more than happy to make that vision come to life & had attention to detail. I am in love with my nails & the positive atmosphere of solar nails. Nail art, Dip powder

Positive: Cleanliness, Quality, ValueSolar nails is my go to nail place. Every nail tech I had has done an excellent job doing my nails and they never fail to impress me. I have gone to other nail salons and they have done a decent job but solar nails has better prices. They also do a quick but tedious job. Solar is going down hill. I been coming for the last 3 years. My nail tech has her favorites and I can see the difference when she does nails. She will rush my nails and I never have time to get a design. I seen others get a a design on every nail, while I’m waiting 30 min passed my time. But she can’t do two nails. I will schedule an appt for a gel manicure and pedicure… She will get someone else to do my toes or ask can I just do a polish change. Really…. The icing on the cake is the front desk. The older lady that answers the phones. She is so rude, loud & don’t have any phone manners. She mixes up appointments and act like your the forgetful one. I found a new salon near my house and I’m so happy with the work. I was scare to try somewhere new. But a great job and $10 cheaper. I’m satisfied. The techs take their time on your feet and your nails, it’s a little longer but they care. I pay $28 for a refill with gel and not $40. And $30 for a gel pedicure. I will not be dealing with Solar and being mistreated

This place is the definition of “looks can be deceiving”! At first glance, it looks like a nice establishment but sadly, my husband treated me here for day-date for my birthday and the service was absolutely substandard. Serious need to RE-TRAIN or FIRE technicians! The lady who did my pedicure scraped me with the buffer which was electronic and painful! I said “Ow!” She stopped chatting and said sorry. Then, she proceeded to over clip my cuticles!!! I jolted! She then stopped and moved quickly to end the pedicure by moving to polish. Problem#3: she had to open over five bottles to get to one decent polish that was horribly clunked/expired/cheaply disintegrated — that included bringing over three trays of colors that included purples (I wanted purple and she seemed like she was praying that I wouldn’t keep picking a different purple)! Next: eyebrows! In one word: horrible! I gave her two chances to wax and shape my eyebrows to my preference: thin with arches. She barely waxed and tweezed my eyebrows! After the second try, I told her “No. This is not what I asked for and I’m not paying for what you did.” She giggled and escorted me out to the nail drying station which was full of dust. Ugh! I only felt bad about knowing that English did not appear to be her first language and she was trying to at least be friendly in grabbing my things as I moved around to different stations. However, when my husband and I got to the counter to explain our dissatisfaction (he was trying to be a good sport but what he also received terrible service and was even burned with hot water on towel that technician placed on his legs after very brief service for a man — not worth $35 at all), the cashier was the final straw due to her communication limitations. She asked for him to pay for my eyebrows anyway when I explained situation. I strongly replied: “Absolutely not.” Shen then called the owner up from the back. The owner understood and apologized for our dissatisfaction. She said of course you don’t have to pay for the eyebrows if you’re dissatisfied. The experience totally ruined the first part of my birthday and day-date with my husband! I really regret the fact that he paid for anything but we wanted to get out of there as fast as humanly possible! I wish I read the full reviews before wasting time and money! Never going back there again!

The whole point of dip (SNS) is to not use UV light, but still I was told to put them under UV light. The lady (Ann) was very aggressive while using machines to remove my old dipping nails. I also asked her to cut the fake tips fully, but she was not listening and giving excuses. I could tell she was in a rush and did not want to do the extra work. I felt the burns on my nails when she was using the machines. If you do not enjoy working, then don’t do it instead of venting it on customers. Very bad service. Had the same person twice and both times she was rushing and working aggressively with the machines.

Reception is RUDE, loud and unprofessional. Sally did my nails and pedicure, she is amazing. The receptionist yelling across the room makes it a tense and not enjoyable experience. I have been going there for years but have had enough. Tried to make appointment today and she gave me one time that was available and said okay bye before I could even answer if I would take appointment.

Critical: Professionalism, ValueI had family in town and scheduled the 7 of us for manicures/pedicures weeks in advance. We showed up at our scheduled time and they told us they didn’t have a reservation. I showed them my call history where I spoke with them for 10 minutes to schedule it, because why would I call them otherwise? They fit us in but rushed all of us. The salon cleaner was told to do my pedicure and she did it poorly in 15 minutes. I’ve also never been to a nail salon where you have to ask to have your cuticles cut. The cringiest part is when the lady who did my manicure took of my old gel dip manicure with her own long nails without even soaking them first. It hurt as bad as it does when you try to rip off acrylics. I’ll never be back.I had family in town and scheduled the 7 of us for manicures/pedicures weeks in advance.
