Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI walked into Sogo Nail Salon on 07/02/2021 and asked if they did full sets. I wanted to get a short nail with pride colors. The lady that attended me answered me by saying it was too expensive as if a BROWN woman like MYSELF could not afford it. After telling me it will be $100+ I said that I could pay the amount. I showed her a picture of the design that I wanted and asked if it could be done and she said yes. After almost 2 hours not only was I charge $120 but the full set was done horribly! The nail shape was completely crooked and pointed in different directions. The set looks like I need a fill in already. The service was bad and quality. I would never return to Sogo because of the prejudice treatment and lack of professionalism. Below are photos of what I asked for vs what I got. I walked into Sogo Nail Salon on 07/02/2021 and asked if they did full sets. I wanted to get a short nail with pride colors. The lady that attended me answered me by saying it was too expensive as if a BROWN woman like MYSELF could not afford it. After telling me it will be $100+ I said that I could pay the amount. I showed her a picture of the design that I wanted and asked if it could be done and she said yes. After almost 2 hours not only was I charge $120 but the full set was done horribly! Critical: ProfessionalismHorrible place! I’m from out of town and decided to come here because it looked clean and conveniently near by my hotel. I walk in and ask for a new acrylic set and they charge $30 for removal!(the nail tech couldn’t tell I had acrylic nail extensions for some reason? I thought that was unprofessional) never been charged more than $10 for a removal of acrylic nails… but whatever maybe that’s NY pricing…The tech wanted to soak my nail to remove them and told me it would take a long time. I told her to just pry them off with a nail clipper because it would be faster. Someone else had to come and pry them off because she didn’t know how. Anyway my nails took 3 hours for short/simple acrylics, the nail tech accidentally glued her finger stuck to my nail so I had to wait for her to get it off, the nails were not my desired length(way to short). It was like it was her first time doing nails. Then when it came time to pay they had the audacity to ask me to tip even more!! I wasn’t even planning on tipping because of their lack of nail knowledge and unprofessionalism! But I did anyway. Horrible place! I’m from out of town and decided to come here because it looked clean and conveniently near by my hotel. I walk in and ask for a new acrylic set and they charge $30 for removal!(the nail tech couldn’t tell I had acrylic nail extensions for some reason? Six of mine popped right off within 24 hours and they would not refund me.Here’s my story,I went in for gel tip extensions with a neutral tone nail art design. I have to say everyone was very friendly and had me right away. BUT my nails were horrible. They were super thick, had to ask multiple times to shave them down thinner but still ended up being really thick. The design was sloppy, looked as though she didn’t really know how to do designs. She even laughed at her work on one of my nails and had to do a different design because looked horrible. Anyways $200 and 2.5 hours later, walked out with gel tip extensions.Two popped off within hours of getting them done, went back to the salon two separate times. The first time, she fully redid the nail. The second time she super glued my nail back on and ended up super glueing our fingers together, right on my cuticle. She had to use alcohol to get our fingers apart and in doing so ruined the nail and left it.The next day, four more nails popped right off.
