I have very thick, curly, coarse, long hair and she always makes sure to take the proper time and care to ensure that my hair looks beautiful, healthy, and the exact way I like it. This was the worst experience I ever had. The manager Mary Jo was supposed to cut my hair instead she butchered it. IF YOU VALUE YOUR HAIR DON’T GO HERE. It was 2 days before Thanksgiving and I was horrified. So thankful that Ms. Tony at Fantastic Sam’s could fix my hair. Mary Jo is the manager of Smart Styles however I DON’T KNOW HOW SHE GOT THE POSITION. She is so negative about others who work in the salon and other stylist. It’s no wonder to me why she can’t keep anyone in the salon to work. (As she says) Honestly if everyone else is quieting around the manager I would begin to look at the problem. I wouldn’t recommend this salon to my worst enemy. I do hope this review as well as the other reviews I have seen on here get management’s attention and they do something about Mary Jo.

My daughter had grown her hair out for 10 months to achieve the cut and style she wanted. We went in with a photo shot in 4 games of the cut she wanted. We asked the “stylist” Tiffany Boyd if she could do this and if she could not, we would go somewhere else. The stylist BUTCHERED her hair. She cut so much off the back, the style in the picture was impossible to achieve! We walked out and took her to another salon to salvage SOMETHING from the mess. This was a disaster!! I would NEVER recommend Smart Style or Tiffany Boyd to ANYONE! Stay away!!

i had a horrible experience as well. I had grown my hair to achieve a specific cut and style. I should have followed my instinct and left but after the stylist assured me several times she could achieve the desired result, i sat in her chair. In the end, my hair looked like it had been cut with a lawn mower, all chopped up, a huge gap in the back behind my left ear. It was nowhere near the photo i brought with me; the photo that the stylist told me 3 separate times she could do.
