This is a chain hair salon located in Walmart. It’s a great place to go for a cut with no appt needed. The flip side is that you never know who will be working there. I’d find a stylist I liked, call to see if I could make an appt with them 2 months later & they’d be gone. Their prices are very reasonable & they sell hair care products at a very reasonable price too. They always have some sort of sale going on. As per any salon similar to this, you could either get a great haircut or go home disappointed. That said, I have used them alot & would recommend the salon, but with the above information.

I was a customer at smart style a couple times, not super frequent but enough to know that Megan Jones was the best stylist. I called not too long ago and spoke with a manager that was nasty about my request to see Megan. Well guys I found her!! Megan Jones is not working at Alta Beauty in colonie and still Killing it! Since management at smart style was no help I decided to write this review to help out anyone else! Smart style I will never be back, you have really gone downhill!

The one stylist (manager) Kyle was too busy coloring his own hair rather than making sure his new employing was doing the right thing. The place was so dirty and messy. I came in on saturday, i was a wreck and needed a new bright look. I asked for a bright red and a new trim look. Kyle completely succeeded my wishes and made me feel so much better after my hair was completed. By far the best place ive been to, accepted my mess of a life crisis why i needed this done, the employees (except the one girl who was in the corner with purple hair, she kept degrading the manager on how when she was manager she was so much better then the current manager, she had by far the worst attitude that ive ever seen, how this woman still works here is beyond me. I will not be going there if and when this girl is working.)of this salon are by far outstanding and amazing to talk to. What a lovely atmosphere while getting my hair done. Thank you again!

I got my hair done with Stevena, it was only her and Donisha in the shop and these girls had me cracking up the entire time I was there. They were so nice and talkative, they made me feel so comfortable. This was my first time being here and definitely will not be my last! I have anxiety so going out in public by myself is hard enough but these girls took my mind right off that and were so engaging. They were also very informative, I had questions about products and what will work with my hair. They were not trying to sell to me at all but just gave me the information I was looking for. Stevena tells you everything she puts in your hair and explains what it does to it. Loved these girls, cannot wait to go back!!

I had been a loyal customer of Megan Jones for the past six years. I still am actually. The one star isn’t because of my hairstylist it’s because of the owners and management. My post will probably be deleted but I hope someone sees it. They currently have me blocked on Instagram because they don’t like the truth. Megan was the best hairdresser in the salon; however, the last few months she was there the tension could have been cut with a knife. The attitude she got from management was disgusting and was often given while Megan had multiple customers. This was told to the owners who “promised” to call not only me but my mother also who flew in from Louisiana to have Megan do her hair, shockingly that call never came.

I went to the salon at 5:45 asking for a cut. There were 2 stylists on who were only doing cuts said they were done accepting clients for the day. The salon is open until 7. If they are wondering why business is down it is because the stylist turn people away.
