Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI had a Groupon deal and knew I wanted to dye my hair red. I called and made the appointment and made sure I could use the deal; I didn’t want to have any issues and I had read a lot of bad reviews from a different salon I was considering as well. I was told Melissa would be doing my hair, which I was thrilled because other reviews had said she was great. Melissa asked a lot of questions and I showed her a bunch of pictures about what I liked and wanted to do; she even told me there would be a $10.00 upcharge because of the thickness of my hair ahead of time, asking if that was okay. She offered her opinions as well which I gladly accepted. Started the process and at first the color was making me a tad nervous but I trusted her opinion. Once everything was finished, I was THRILLED. I even asked her about doing beach waves because I love that look and she showed me how to do it, no problem. I LOVE my hair and left in smiles. It’s exactly what I was wanting and couldn’t be happier. I called and made the appointment and made sure I could use the deal; I didn’t want to have any issues and I had read a lot of bad reviews from a different salon I was considering as well. I had a wonderful experience at shimmer Hair Salon today. I went in for a haircut and Teresa was very kind and helpful with her advice. she also styled my hair very beautifully. Over all I loved how my hair turned out and I will definitely be back. The only thing I didn’t like was that they charged me $15 extra for styling my hair with the blow dryer only because my hair is a little long. I know it took her a while but I felt like $15 was a little too much.

Ask for Melissa. She is amazing. Her knowledge about color was astounding, she is like a mad scientist. I’ve always wanted to be a blonde but could never achieve it without the brassy tones or it looking orange but she was able to nail it. My husband still looks at me and can’t believe how much younger I look. Thank you a million times over for making me feel beautiful!!

Not exactly thrilled with my experience. I had gone to this salon 2 years ago. The stylist I had then was no longer there. No problem. When I called to make my appointment, I was very clear on what I wanted. I had originally said I wanted full process hair color and the woman repeated back just color to me so I told her, yes, color but that my hair would need to be bleached. (I was there to make a big change.) She says okay, sets the appointment, great. I get there on Saturday, show the stylist what I want, only to be told that they only had me down for just a color and they don’t have time to do my hair. Needless to say, I’m pissed. I had gotten a sitter specifically for this appointment. The stylist and the owner (I think) discuss options for a few minutes but there was no getting me what I actually came in there for. So I decide fine, I guess I’ll just get a haircut since I’m already there. The haircut was barely a trim and whereas the stylist was nice enough, I literally could have gotten the same trim at Great Clips for 30 bucks cheaper. The stylist and owner were both knowledgeable and polite but very little interest in actual customer happiness. I mean, c’mon, couldn’t take a few bucks off the overpriced haircut for the inconvenience? Definitely won’t be returning. When I make an appointment, I expect it to be what I actually made it for. If the receptionist isn’t a stylist and can’t understand what people want, maybe it’s time for a new receptionist.

I visited Shimmer this past Friday, using a Groupon. Michelle gave me the best haircut I’ve had in years and she gave me my first full, permanent hair coloring to cover my graying brunette hair. I could not be happier – my hair is shiny and natural and rich looking I am so glad a Groupon deal lead me to Michelle at Shimmer.

I went during the week, so it was pretty relaxed. Decor is modern, salon is clean. Anyway, I wasn’t sure what to expect due to reviews but my haircut by Vita surpassed my expectations. I love it! She is amazing and took the time necessary to get the style I was looking for 😉

Melissa was able to cut through my indecisiveness and give me exactly what I wanted. I am not a fan of getting my hair done but Shimmer is very comfortable and the staff really listens to you. I will definitely be returning.

I walk in, the stylist at the front desk was checking out a client as I walked up, she just stared at me blankly and I told her I was there for a retouch & toner, i ended up just doing a toner because in my eyes she seemed done for the day & didnt want to do a project. as I walked back to her station it was gross, #1 it was not sanitized there was chunks of hair all over the floor from her previous client that I had to ask her to sweep up as well tools #2 she did not properly drape me #3 she didn’t blow dry my hair completely. I am a stylist in school & to experience this is very upsetting, ….where is the joy & professionalism? She didn’t even introduce herself. She is an older women with an accent and blonde hair tan skin. Never again toner did nothing

Teresa did my hair and my daughters hair … she was amazing ! Super sweet , our hair turned out great and she was fun to talk to. My daughter loved it here lol eating sweets and talking everyone’s ear off (she’s 7) and my hair was a big deal because it was for my birthday and I am due soon anytime with our third child so I wanted it to look perfect ! I would def recommend this salon and if you go def see Teresa ! Thank you
