Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityI set up an appointment with Precision Salon after going through countless reviews on hair salons in the Long Beach area who also specializes in African American hair care and services. Their reviews were good and after making a phone call to Brenda B, the owner and main hair stylist, I decided to set up an online appointment, which, btw, she only accepts appointments (online) and no walk-ins.On the day of my appointment, it was extremely hot and I was dehydrated- potentially. I parked under the parking garage nearby that gives you 2 hours free and I then just walked a few feet away to the business office that contains a variety of different suites and is located at the very corner of the parking garage on 4th Street. Be sure to let Brenda know that you’re there, if you made an appointment, by texting or giving her a call because otherwise no one will come to the front door as there are many people working there and you will only be let in by the person who invited you once they know that you’re there. When Brenda came to the door, she informed me of how to proceed next time I come to ensure that I am not waiting outside. Due to Covid, she had to take my temperature and ensure it was 99 degrees before I was able to go to the back into her suite. The facility is very nice and upscale from the lobby to her personal area. Everything is quality, clean, and has a a nice and relaxing ambience. She only takes one person at a time so you get the 1-on- 1 personal attention, which I loved. I requested a hair color and a relaxer. She did a great job with everything overall. However, there was one exception… the color did not take. It was supposed to be black. But, it turned out mostly dark brownish with some black. She took it upon herself to offer me another day to re-schedule so she could do a complimentary recolor, to ensure that I got the color that I needed and wanted. That made me feel a lot better and it told me a lot about the type of person that Brenda truly was. Two weeks passed. I returned yesterday and the color did come out black throughout my entire head– even with the stubborn grays. I’m satisfied and will definitely go back as she is learning me and my hair and willing to do so to ensure my happiness and I am also learning her so that we can work together and create the different styles and hair goals that I have/desire. Speaking of which, Brenda does pride herself in providing and achieving healthy hair and in communicating with the client regularly throughout the experience to inform and educate you about what she’s doing, what it is that she’s placing on your hair, and why. She does have a certain line of quality products that she uses in which she tells you about them and you’re welcome to purchase them also. She also will not be satisfied if your desired goal or goals aren’t met.
