I’m very picky about where I go to get my nails done and was hesitant about trying this place out but after meeting Oscar my fears slowly started to go away. He made sure everything was on point. I can’t even begin to tell you how about horrible the gel nail service was that I received. I love getting my nails done. My usual nail salon was closed— so I came to New York Nail. I am very into beauty and understand what’s trending and how things should be done. Right off the bat, my cuticles were never cut back, just shaved off by the drill, which did absolutely nothing. My nails were then dipped into a bowl of water, which I just don’t understand why. When you get gel done, nails are supposed to be dehydrated, not hydrated. Having wet nails before get causes them to peel off. So I already knew this wasn’t going to turn out well. I wrap up my manicure, pay and tip and then go about the rest of my day. I woke up in the morning with 7 NAILS lifted and peeling off. I call back with frustration the next day and they told me to come in and they’ll fix them. (Which I did appreciate) The nail lady explained to me that it’s a new product. Btw it’s not a new product, I use this same brand and color at my other nail salon. So I then said to her that my nails were extremely wet before the first coat went on and that gel is supposed to be dehydrating your nail first. She immediately says that i’m wrong and that no one’s ever had that issue before which I find hard to believe. I can’t begin to tell you the amount of staring eyes by the other workers towards me and how they all came up to look at my nails. I was so uncomfortable. I was appreciative of the new girl that fixed my nails for free and I tipped her, even though she didn’t want to take it from me. A few days later I had to go back AGAIN for another nail that peeled off. This was all in a matter of 5 days. I had the original lady that did my nails and boy did she make me uncomfortable. I finally left and WILL NEVER go back there again.

Very rude ! I got a gel manicure done. I noticed it was bumpy, uneven and poorly done. I returned the next day to have them fix. The women who did my nails was very rude about fixing them. She said I had bumpy nails that it’s not her. She still fixed it but was very rough and rude. I would not recommend going to this place at all. You pay money to get a service , it should be done to your expectations!

I literally went here for 10+ years consistently. I recently moved and have come back twice in the past few months. Both times I received awful mani/pedis. Air bubbles in the dried polish, cuticle cut not very clean, and just overall a poor job. They have really started slacking in the past two years and I will not be returning. The photo shows my brand new manicure with bubbles on 2 of the 4 nails. My right hand had at least one bubble per nail. To be clear this is a regular manicure. I cannot speak to the gel or perm french.

I have been coming here for 10 years now, even as I moved to Jersey and salon ALWAYS delivers for me. I know people expect everyone to be in such chipper moods, but like EVERY employee, people have days so please give them a break. Oscar is the superstar that runs the show! He’s awesome and always has me cracking up! This place is a true gem with superb service and VERY reasonable prices. I got a fill-in and pedicure for $36! In my area in jersey that’s an easy $48+! Y’all DONT know until ya know!

Felt very rushed. The lady was very rough with my hands, kept pushing and pulling them the entire time. I kept trying to tell her that my middle finger nail was crooked and was nowhere near the same length as my other middle finger. Every time i spoke she would cut me off, telling me to wait. So at the end before she put the polish on, i told her once again the problem and she huffed and puffed because she had to fix it. In addition, they unfortunately don’t have their colors set up where you could actually see what it looks like on the nail, rather than the color of the bottle. So because of that, the color that is on my nails looks nothing like the color on the bottle.

I asked to have my old set of wraps removed and have a new one put on. This is only a week into having them done there previously. The woman shaves them down with the electric file then starts to clip at the wrap with a cuticle cutter from the tip of my nail. Ripping off my real nails as she takes off the old wrap. What’s worse is after I tell her she’s hurting me she continues to do so until she she finally rips my nail along with the wrap leaving me bleeding. I left angry after Oscar tells me he will fix it but leaves me sitting there with mutilated nails. The worse nail experience of my life .
