I usually don’t post reviews BUT !!!! She did a wonderful job on my hair !! I was nervous because it’s always that feeling of regret when you try someone new but she didn’t not fail me ! Not only did she make me feel comfortable but she was fast ! Most places I’ve sat in a chair for over 4 hours and she had me in and out within that time ! If you’re particular about your hair, it’s ok because she will get you right !

I wanted to get my hair done for my trip to the Caribbean next week but I guess NY AFRICAN HAIR BRAIDING SALON doesn’t want my money. Good luck staying in business being so unprofessional.

The staff was friendly but the stylist was late for my appointment. Before starting I showed her a picture of the size I wanted my Senegalese twist. After doing the first few that were done I was given a price for that size which was supposed to be a small to medium size. The first few were great in size and I was told this would be $220. Once done they were way bigger than what was expected. Especially for the price given of $220. I was disappointed some what. Overall they looked great but I felt over charged for not receiving what I asked for! I would go back but only for something other than Senegalese or box braids because it’s hard to get over on someone with something like corn rows. I just wanted what I paid and asked for.

Fanta was pleasant and nice while braiding my hair, however while she was braiding my hair I told her it was very tight. Which is expected but it was very painful unlike any other time when I’ve received a braid service. I told her and she continued to braid tight. I left thinking the pain would subside. I had taken medication, used cold and warm compress on the braid, sat under a steamer even removed braids where the pain was unbearable to no relief. I had to removed the braids(in less than 24 hours). I couldn’t even sleep that night and I’ve been wearing braids for 30 years and am also licensed hair stylist so I knew anything that hurt like this could result in permanent hair loss.

I will definitely be back . I have been getting compliments on my my hair all weekend and today at work. I love how the braids are so neat and most importantly she didn’t braid my hair too tight . I can’t stand tight hair. I asked her not to braid too tight and throughout her braiding she made sure to keep asking was I comfortable with it and to let her know if she needs to loosen up .
