I used to tan at Planet Fitness until I switched to Motor City Tan, and let me tell you, I get tanner ten times faster with the beds at Motor City Tan. Not only do I get a good tan but the atmosphere is so clean and comforting. The interior and decor is very cute and inviting. Also, all the employees are super nice and very helpful! Overall, my favorite tanning salon and will not be leaving anytime soon!

Great place when they are open. I have went too many times to find the closed sign up during hours posted. Also they like to take Sundays off and (sometimes) leave a hand written note on the door. Closed the last two years on Mother’s day, not a good gift

I called Motor City Tan at 7:30 p.m. I found out they were opened till 8:00 and said I would be there! I got dressed and hurried out the door, (I live 5 minutes away). I got there at 7:45 to a locked door and the open sign off, I double checked the window and the time; the window said it closed at 8:00 and the time was 7:45. Last time I checked closing at 8:00 meant you close the doors at 8:00-NOT 15 minutes prior. If you can’t handle staying a little later for a last minute customer, you should change your closing time or indicate when you take your last customer. I worked in a tanning salon, and I realize that having a customer coming in 15 minutes prior to close is not ideal. However, they lost a sale today and a customer FOREVER!

BEWARE IF MOTOR CITY TAN ON GRATIOT. I received a gift certificate for Christmas. When I tried to use it the person there said I have to come in when the owner is there. I told her that is not acceptable and to refund my money. She called a person who barely spoke english who first said they don’t give refunds, then said they don’t have enough money to give me a refund then said to come back on Thursday then said to come back on Saturday. I am sure I will have to file a complaint with the state to get my money back. I will update.
