Critical: ProfessionalismIf I could it would be no stars. This was my experience. I was wanting to do something spunky and spontaneous being that this year has been nothing but horrendous. I did research in nearby salons and found Medusa’s Manor. I was intrigued with the high reviews both on google, Facebook and especially Yelp. What struck me the most was her story. I was certain I had found (finally) my hairstylist.I had reached out to Brooke via phone but was unsuccessful on Dec. 5th so I decided to text just in case it was a cellphone. In my text, I asked if I can book an appointment since I was unable to online. I believe the app she uses to book appointments was glitching. Several hours later she texted me asking me for how my hair looks currently so she can give me an “accurate estimate”. I found this awkward knowing that she also offered consultations. Either way I took a picture of my hair and sent it. I also mentioned that I would like to color it a solid color and maybe add some curtains on the way bottom of my head (if possible if not I would just like solid dark hair). She didn’t respond back to me. On Dec 7th, I went ahead and texted her back requesting if I can still book since online is still having issues. She said no problem and asked me about my hair history. We texted back and forth and she said she would look at her book and she would set it up. I told her thanks. On Wed she texted me asking for my full name and email and I texted her back with the info on Thurs. then she texted me the online booking style seat app to book which I booked for Saturday at 10 am. Saturday (Dec 11) she texted me ten minutes before 10 am saying she didn’t have a sitter and she would check if she had any openings for Sunday (next morning). She tried to call me but I was unable to answer and I tried calling her back but she was unavailable too. Sunday morning I texted her asking if she was going to be able to see me and I heard nothing from her.Friday December 17th, I reached out to her via text letting her know that I had booked for a consultation that same day at 4 but wanted to confirm if not I could reschedule. She didn’t text me back yet since I did book at 4 pm I got there several minutes prior and waited till 4:30 pm. The lady across from her was very sweet and told me she was sorry after she asked me if I had even an email that stated I had an appointment. I showed her the email and she continued to tell me sorry. She too tried to reach her over the phone.Around 6:41, she sent me a text saying that she didn’t know what was wrong with her phone. But she had her “read receipts“ on her iPhone so I knew she was reading and getting my texts. She mentioned she was embarrassed and I just told her how I was excited that I had found her and after reading the reviews, I really wanted her to do my hair. She didn’t text me after (she did read it) until the next day! On that text she said she was available Saturday (Dec 18) and whatever time. I told her just give me a time and I would be there. Again she did not text me back. Saturday came I texted her around 8:53 am asking if I could swing by at 10 am. Around 11 am I went to the salon thinking she would be there since her hours are from 10 am to 7 pm. She was not there. Again the sweet lady across from her was sorry. I texted her to let her know and to just let me know I live literally in Atascocita and didn’t mind driving.Sadly to this day she has not called me nor texted me at all!Again I will mention, I had already read her “About Us”website, the history of her business and also the yelps on her. What I loved and was intrigued with the good high reviews and also the section where “meet the owner”.I too was a single mother for many years and I truly understand shuffling children and my career. But there is no excuse to her unprofessionalism and lack of communication with clients. She could had just emailed me if she was having issues with her phone. To say the least, I was devastated that I wasn’t able to have the honor of her dying my hair.If I could it would be no stars. This was my experience.
