Critical: ProfessionalismHORRIFIC/DISASTEROn Friday, Jan 10th, I went to Madeline’s Hair Salon in Island Park, NY to get my hair done. I asked Madeline for thin blonde highlights, I also showed for a picture of what I wanted to be done (which is what I had recently done a few months ago – not a complete new process). I went here not because it was cheaper than other places (It wasn’t, I still paid $225 plus tip for full head highlights, toner, and to cut my split ends). I picked this place because I prefer to spend my money on small local businesses.When she was done (I didn’t get my hair blow dried) but what was strange is that se didn’t even blow dry a part of it to see how the color had turned out, but at that time I didn’t think anything of it. when I got home I quickly dried my hair for work and to me surprise, it was a disaster and no where near as close as to what I had asked her to do. Instead I got blonde/yellow thick highlights. I was mortified, so I quickly drove back to the hair salon to show it to her and get it fixed. I was very upset, so upset that i started crying. I couldn’t believe what she had done to my hair a few days before my bday. Madeline tells me she is busy and doesn’t have time to fix it but sent me over to her co-worker to fix it.Here comes the SECOND DISASTER! The second lady says she is adding more thin blonde highlights. I am like ok fine, anything to make it look better. she goes ahead and does whatever she needs to do. After washing my hair and is combing my hair, so much of my hair is falling out, so she recommends doing a conditioner treatment, I said ok fine, I was already late for work at this point. Washes it and hands me over a blow drier for me to dry my hair and asks me if I am happy with it. I tell her I am not. At this point I look like a man leopard, my hair has so many different colors. it almost looks like she dumped a bucket of blonde paint at the top of my hair. The ends don’t match the top, and I have 2 spots/circles by the front that look like they haven’t been done. I get upset again and start crying again. I was so upset that i had to walk out. I came back in and ask Madeline what she is going to do to fix it now? She basically brushes me off and the second lady comes over and says she will fix those few hairs by the front of my hair line. she “fixes” them and after she is done, f course the color isn’t right! I HAVE ORANGE HIGHLIGHTS.MIND YOU, MADELINE NEVER EVEN SAID A WORD TO ME AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT. SHE DIDN’T EVEN COME OVER TO ME TO CHECK ON HOW THE COLOR CAME OUT THE SECOND TIME.I get even more upset, crying I walked out. At no point Madeline suggested to come back in 2 weeks to fix it because it was too soon to do so. She also never offered to give me a discount or any money back.
