I am very pleased with my hair. Mara did an excellent job. She was very patient with my indecisiveness. I couldn’t decide on highlights or a side or front part. It was nice to watch everyone work so diligently. I have much respect for what they do. I admire them for taking an undersppreciated skill and turning it into a lucrative business owned and operated by women of color. Unfortunately, I didn’t expect to be there for seven hours. I took books with me, napped some, and watched tv. Waiting comes with the territory. I felt as I went back in time to when my hair was done by family. This was a much needed outing. I love my hair. Critical: Professionalism, ValueThis is the worst salon I’ve ever been to. I went for a sew in and they did not sit me in the chair until a hour later than what my appointment was. They did not properly blow dry my hair after being washed by them as well. And when the lady was done with my hair it was absolutely TERRIBLE. This is the worst salon I’ve ever been to. I went for a sew in and they did not sit me in the chair until a hour later than what my appointment was. I called them last minute because another stylist cancelled my appointment and they took me. Friendly and polite. I was especially greatful that 2 of them worked on my hair for a period of time which saved some time.

Braids looked beautiful; however, they came out. Just started falling out. My hair is short, yes, but their technique in grasping the hair was substandard. I spent $200 on my braids. I will never ever go to them again. The only reason for the 2 stars is because the braids were beautiful, poorly installed.

Amy is terribly rude! I had a horrible encounter with her several years ago and refrained from spending money there. I thought there nasty be a language barrier, but at this point, her English is good enough because she manages to be very unpleasant with her tone and diction. There are countless other African braiding salons so I would never advise going here. I know I won’t. The braiding quality isn’t even as good as it used to be and they’re extremely slow. Explore your options and visit at your own risk!
