First time at Luminary. Mazzy, my stylist, listened to my request and told me how they were going to approach cutting my hair to achieve the style I wanted. We had pleasant conversation and it was nice to get to know them. The atmosphere of the shop is relaxing and professional. I had a shampoo and styling as part of my haircut and it was all very reasonably priced. When checking out, the receptionist made sure to ask if I wanted to book my next appointment. Overall a great experience!

What an amazing experience. I have NEVER had such an incredible haircut experience in my life. She was kind, thoughtful, conversational, funny, and made me feel like I was her only client of the day with modifications being fielded left and right and every little request being done with enthusiasm. My hair looks beautiful. I feel amazing and got so many compliments. I am never getting my hair cut anywhere else. As long as I’m in RVA, Luminary is my one and only salon and Kat is my go to stylist!!

I have gone to luminary for eyebrow threading and now for a haircut and I have had nothing short of amazing experiences! I have curly hair, and it can be tough to find a stylist that will give me a good cut without spending a fortune. I had the pleasure of having Mazzie cut my hair, and they did a fantastic job for a super reasonable price! I definitely recommend Luminary for those with curly hair!

After a series of mediocre haircuts before the pandemic, I hadn’t had a haircut since 2019 and was cutting it myself. Finally got to the point where I thought I should get it professionally done but was a bit nervous! I saw Eliot specifically because he does well with cutting short hair. I have a more complicated asymmetrical haircut and they did an amazing job recreating it. He listened to my feedback as to how my hair is usually cut and put a lot of care into it. The price was really great as well, especially for Richmond. Would highly recommend Eliot for short hair cuts.
