I was in the process of growing my hair long. It was in good shape. With 1/8-1/4 inch of space between my thumb and finger I showed Jodi how much I wanted off for a trim (barely anything). She took 2 1/2 – 3 inches off and gave me lots of layers (I was trying to grow mine out). Afterwards I looked in car mirror and not only was it much shorter than I asked for but one side was a different length than the other side. Good luck in your search.
