Welcome, you are kin. In 2008, the original L’Atelier Salon opened its doors in Downtown Santa Cruz. As of January 2020, we have evolved into Kinship Hair Co. Celebrating over 10 years in business, our mission at Kinship Hair Co., is to be a space to relax, and to create inclusion through beauty, touch and mindful communication. We pride ourselves in ensuring our guests are at ease and where their inner and outer beauty is celebrated, no matter their identity. We are a group of independent hair stylists here to serve our community by giving you the gift of effortless, beautiful hair, one day at a time.

L’Atelier Salon is the most beautiful salon in Santa Cruz. This salon is so cute inside and in a really convenient location. I went to Jillian Haun a few months ago and she was AMAZING!! I have super curly hair and am always so nervous to try a new stylist but right away she was able to see some underlying issues with my last cut. She did a beautiful blowout and when I washed it back to curly my hair felt even, bouncy, and full bodied, which is what I love!! Thanks Jillian, will be back again!!

I really like L’Atelier and their staff. My hairstylist is Claire Rosenberg & she does an absolutely lovely job with my hair, which is straight and long. She is very personable & professional and fun to chat with. L’Atelier’s staff is professional & warm & their salon is very well situated. They carry and work with Kevin Murphy products, which work well with my hair type. The clientele ranges all ages and genders. L’Atelier is definitely a premium salon, not a Supercuts, though their price points are reasonable for the amount of care they take with their clients. Try them out!

Had my first deva cut today thanks to Megan! After a hair trim (with unwanted hair thinning) left my hair feeling dejected, it was time to finally get the deva cut I’ve been wanting to try. Megan was super friendly and knowledgeable. But most of all, willing to cut my hair short. Other stylists would only want to do so much with my hair. All in all, I was really happy that I drove from Monterey to Santa Cruz. My experience at this salon was great 🙂

I had a mixed experience here. I got a bad haircut with layers that I specifically discussed not wanting, but a really good dye job. Trying to grow out unwanted layers can take a while, they still aren’t out 4 months later.
