I’ll start off with the most important part. I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER WITH MY KEEWANAW SAUNA! Red and his crew were great to work with. I knew going in that this wouldn’t be a quick turnaround. I ordered my 6×8 sauna back in March and it was delivered in the 3rd week of October, but again, I knew it would take a while. When I ordered it, I was told they were backed up and I might not get it until the fall. So I left them alone and waited. Red has a small crew and his saunas are in big demand. Each one is made to order, so yes, you’ll wait. But it’s worth it.

Very poor quality. I am a skilled trim carpenter and was able to rebuild the door and fix the windows. The barrel board that warped and buckled were a mystery. They promised to repair this and admitted it was a default on their end and after a year my ceiling still leaks. Do no buy this sauna!!!

After paying a deposit and waiting through 2 years of broken agreements, no shows, and ghosting my messages. I finally gave up. This company is horrible and fraudulent. Do not do business with them. They took my deposit happily and proceeded to not deliver it or communicate with me. Or string me along with false promises. Criminal.

We received our sauna on July 23, 2021. We’ve been using it 2-3 times a week since and are loving it so far. We ordered our sauna in early April 2021, with an estimated delivery of August 2021 (or possibly by the 4th of July). Red told my husband to call mid-summer to check the status. After reading reviews about a lack of communication, we remained diligent with calling starting at the end of June. We called weekly for about a month and Red was always friendly and kind. If it wasn’t ready, he always recommended calling back or texting to check where they were at with the status of our sauna. If he didn’t pick up when I called, he always called me back. We never had issues with lack of communication. He gave us updates each time we would call and by July 23, it was delivered. The sauna was delivered by one of Red’s staff members and my husband was really impressed with his knowledge of the product. My only critique would be that there was a lot of saw dust under all of the benches in the changing room and sauna area that could have been swept or vacuumed before delivering the finished product. Not a huge deal but just something I noticed. So…after owning this sauna for almost 2 months, we are very happy with this purchase and really excited to continue using it during the upcoming winter months. To anyone interested in buying one, just try to be patient with the wait time and know that it’s a good idea to stay in contact with Red prior to your expected delivery time. It’s definitely worth the wait!

Update: Still no refund. Red called me threatening me with his lawyer for posting my experience on Facebook. Nothing came of it. I later tagged them in a post alerting the public that I still had not received a refund to which they replied, check your account, we refunded you. They did not. Still waiting….. I’m filing a complaint with the State of Michigan under the Consumer Protection Act.

Ordered a sauna last summer after good communication and a pleasant exchange of information with Tammy and Red. At the time we really thought we had made a solid choice in purchasing an American made product from a solid small business. Unfortunately, over the next 7 months we received many promises of delivery dates and related excuses, with a drop off in communication and status (unless we called). We finally decided to cancel our order in January and were told multiple times since then (after much follow up on our part) that our deposit would be returned/check was being cut that day. Nearly five months later, no return of our $500 deposit and no answer to our calls. Beware of doing business with Keweenaw Saunas.

This business has no business being able to peddle promises they can’t follow thru on. Sauna was ordered by my son in April. It was promised by the last week of July. Nothing, he called and they gave the excuse it would take longer. They had no problem taking $500 deposit. He has called and emailed. They will not answer. They are still taking orders and money and don’t deliver. A complaint is being filed with the BBB and the state of Michigan Attorney Generals office. Stay away from these crooks!!!!

ABSOLUTELY NO customer service. My husband got his sauna last February. It was delivered promptly as it was made for someone else, who canceled it and they needed it out of the workshop. My husband loves it, but after a few saunas one of the walls buckled. Just wanted some info like, is this common, can it be put back, will it get worse? Trying every day for 2 weeks with calls, texts, emails….only email responses saying they will call. Still haven’t received a call. Wish we would have read all the negative responses before we purchased. One thing that is not acceptable is rudeness!!!!!!!
