45 Minute Trigger Point Therapy
45 minutes. Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy is a style of manual therapy that focuses on deactivating problematic trigger points in skeletal muscle. Trigger points are hyper-irritable spots within a taught band in a muscle that give rise to reproducible and familiar pain and can interfere with proper function and muscle firing patterns. During the session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques in order to release and deactivate trigger points. Although this process can be painful at times, it often “hurts so good”.

60 Minute Orthopedic Massage
60 minutes. Orthopedic massage is a style of massage therapy focused on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Because orthopedic massage is designed to treat medical conditions, it requires extensive training. It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and decompress rigid joints. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being.

90 Minute Treatment with Massage and Postural Restoration
Postural Restoration® Therapy to reduce chronic pain is incredibly effective. I have studied at the Postural Restoration Institute and am in the process of pursuing my PRT. I use some form of Postural Restoration in all of my sessons. 90 minutes allows me enough time to perform focused massage on your area of concern, as well as begin to re-educate your body on how to walk, sit, move, and play.

Initial Consultation
75 minutes. An Initial Evaluation at Kaivalya Bodywork’s Watertown massage studio is the first step towards living pain free. This includes an intake of one’s unique history, posture, and gait among other assessments. At this session, Raffi will discuss which combination of modalities will help you get back to doing the things you love. This almost always involves some combination of Postural Restoration® and focused massage.

Raffi is a massage magician! I have had chronic, SI pain, every day, for years. At our first session, he quickly recognized a postural issue that my doctor and chiropractor have been missing. It was causing the problem!

I have been fortunate enough to be a client of Raffi’s since he first started his massage therapy practice. His practice has deepened as he learned and incorporated new bodywork techniques. Raffi is so much more than a masseuse. He is a wise observer, keen listener and deep thinker. He had a natural healing gift from the start and has developed that into a profoundly therapeutic, individualized approach to body mechanics and healing.

I’ve been a client of Raffi’s for several years now, and I still go despite the fact that I live in Boxborough and his office is in Watertown. It’s worth the extra drive to work with Raffi. Not only is he extremely talented at what he does, but he’s also just a really genuinely good person. He really cares about his customers and takes time to listen. I have recommended Raffi to many of my friends and acquaintances. I look forward to my next session with him!

Raffi is great. I’ve been having some hip pain, saw him a few times and feel much better. I went for a run right after seeing Raffi and had the best run of my marathon training! Not sure what he did, but I was flying out there (relatively speaking) for nine miles.

Im a licensed massage therapist myself, and I am extremely impressed with Raffi’s knowledge, perceptiveness, and touch. He certainly knows how to listen, look, feel, and make profound yet gentle changes to the body. I will definitely be back, even if just to learn more from him!

I came across Raffi’s name sort of randomly in a neighborhood post – his focus on postural issues caught my attention. Lucky! I was new to massage therapy at that point, and wasn’t sure what my expectations should be. For others who might be new to this: you walk out feeling great, but more importantly, it is a total reset and he provides instructions on ways to stand/sit/walk/sleep that get you on the right path to a long term improvement. He’s a gentle soul and a good listener and will get you to a better place. I can’t say enough good things about him! I only wish I were closer so I could see him more often – still, worth the trip.

Raffi is wonderful. He appropriately adjusts the pressure and technique based on age and what pains. He is incredibly patient and kind to his elders too. My mother in law always has positive things to say.

I’ve seen Raffi on and off for bodywork for years. He’s a walking encyclopedia of all things massage, anatomy, and biomechanics. I always feel better after my treatments with Raffi.
