Jule’s Salon and Boutique

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueOn March 13, 2021 I went to Jule’s Salon and Boutique to get my roots touched up. When the stylist was done putting the bleach and foils in my hair she put me under the heat. I was under there for about 35-40 minutes, which I found out later from various stylists that you’re not supposed to put bleach under the heat for that amount of time. When she took me out of the heat she continued to put bleach on my head at the washing station. When she pulled out my foils at the washing station I noticed a lot of my hair had come out, and when she was blow drying my hair I noticed even more of my hair falling out. When she was done my hair was a yellow tint, but I had somewhere to be so I didn’t say anything. The next day my hair looked even worse. It was extremely thin and orange around my forehead. I also noticed bleach burns on my hair in the back. On March 17, 2021 I messaged the stylist on Instagram to ask for a refund. She gave me the owner’s number and so I texted Julie, the owner. Julie refused to give me a refund until she saw my hair in person, so I went to Murfreesboro for her to look at my hair. When I got there she looked at my hair for a total of 10 mins and said she could do a root melt and that would fix it. I asked her how she was going to fix the damage done to my hair that was caused from me sitting under the heat with the bleach and she suggested that I go buy an Aveda deep conditioning hair mask. She didn’t even offer to fix the damage and also didn’t see a problem with the fact that I was put under heat with bleach in my hair. That scared me so I didn’t want her trying to fix my hair again. I consulted with another hairstylist to fix my hair and she said she was going to have to do an Olaplex treatment and also cut my hair due to the damage. I got my mother involved to try to get my refund, but Julie still refused to give me my money back. Positive: Professionalism, QualityReese was very professional. She did a thorough consultation before she began. My cut and color turned out exactly like I wanted! She was fun and friendly. The salon is so chic and the boutique has amazingly cute clothes, shoes, and jewelry. I also got to talk to the other stylists as well as the owner and they were all super fun! Reese was very professional. She did a thorough consultation before she began. My cut and color turned out exactly like I wanted! She was fun and friendly. The salon is so chic and the boutique has amazingly cute clothes, shoes, and jewelry. I also got to talk to the other stylists as well as the owner and they were all super fun! I highly recommend this salon!

Positive: Professionalism, ValueJulie did a great color/cut/highlights. I drive 40 minutes from Brentwood (as do many of my friends) because of her expertise. So difficult to find someone of good character, great skill and fair pricing these days. And, she’s just all around fun! I do have one complaint. So difficult to find someone of good character, great skill and fair pricing these days. And, she’s just all around fun! I do have one complaint. Now that she has opened a clothing boutique in her salon, my budget is busted!!!!

I consulted a hair dresser at Jules about maintaining healthy hair while proceeding to add highlights and she was rude and unprofessional in her responses and I eventually decided against going to Jules to get my hair done. Beware before you waste your money!Edit: the owner commented about my choice to not go to their salon due to the experience I had when dealing with a stylist. I clearly stated I decided against getting my hair done at this salon, and nobody “told me” to post a review. I consulted a hair dresser at Jules about maintaining healthy hair while proceeding to add highlights and she was rude and unprofessional in her responses and I eventually decided against going to Jules to get my hair done.
