I would not recommend Sheria for natural cuts. I came to get a natural haircut in May and to say the least it was a terrible experience. Based on the photos, I thought I was in good hands but I was not. My hair had some color damage which was the point of the cut. During the conversation with the stylist she kept expressing that I could not get my hair cut into the desired style due to the damage. I understood but instead of offering solutions or alternative cut ideas she just kept expressing why I couldn’t get what I wanted. Cutting your hair is already stressful and nerve wrecking but to have someone basically talking about damage you’re already aware of (very loudly) with no solutions adds to the frustration. I just got no empathy or compassion, just pointing out the obvious repeatedly. Then to add to the frustration my hair cut results looked terrible! It was super uneven and was not presentable at all. She didn’t even throughly detangle or brush out my hair before she started, she just started cutting. I should have just left when I sense the lack of compassion or empathy. I ended up going to another salon and when she straightened it out and saw how uneven my hair was she was in disbelief. She couldn’t believe I went to a “professional”. I ended up having to get additional inches cut (my hair was already pretty short) because she had to fix the mess created by this salon. My peers even noticed the difference in my cut once it was corrected which validated that the haircut wasn’t done right. Needless to say I won’t be back but I had to make sure others know so they aren’t faced with the frustration I endured.

Today was my first time visiting the salon and I will definitely be returning! Sheria is very knowledgeable. She took the time to answer any questions and/or concerns I had about my hair and her process. The health of your hair is definitely her first priority which is rare with all of the quick and convenient styles many salons are catering to now days.

I went to Jonathan Markle Salon for the first time in August. Sheria and Maritza were very professional and friendly. Sheria did an excellent job of coloring, trimming, and styling my natural hair. They really went out of their way! I have a lot of hair, so Sheria and Maritza went above in beyond just to get all of the color they needed for my hair. Since my first visit to the salon I have been back. The last time I went for a wash and steam treatment. Another great job, and I’ll definitely be back again!
