SO, I have a full head of thick, long hair and and wanted knotless braids. These ladies, including Ms. Rosemary, were SO nice and accommodating. They would constantly check if I was fine or whether the braids were too tight. They took their time, and I am in love with the results! I don’t know how to act with my braids now haha! If you have a full head of NATURAL hair the owner looks at you with discuss. What is sad is that as an African woman she should understand the beauty and the struggles of having natural hair, instead she complained while doing my hair which is utterly rude and disrespectful, she kept saying my hair was so thick and she hates doing natural hair. (Think about being in the chair of a hair dresser and she’s saying she hates to do natural hair and your hair is natural) As a professional stylist you should be able to do any kind of hair, not make your customers feel as though they should destroy the texture of their hair to make your job easier. The style of itself did came out nice, I will not take her talent to braid away from her, but the way she made me feel to have natural hair is one of the reason I would not go back there. It’s behavior like that which makes our people change who we are to fit a standard of acceptability, instead of accepting who we are, and embracing our true beauty.
