Critical: ProfessionalismChanged my review from a 1 to a 3 due to management being willing to correct the error/incident . I Paid $165 for a senior to do my roots (I get my hair done every few months and I have fine, silky blonde hair). When he was finished my hair was orange, yellow, and still had dye in it! It was fried and was the worst I have ever had my hair done. I was there for at least five hours as another girl tried to repair the damage and while she still did her best, I left with yellow, mix matched hair. Management was able to refund my money and supply me with products to try and make my hair back to its silky self, it’s been a long process and I will not return to a Penny’s salon but changed rating since they were at least willing to work out a solution as I left the place in tears as my hair was damaged. Please do your research on who does your hair as I wouldn’t want any one else to have to go through what I did.Edit:Year later, with professional stylist and get my roots touched up once a month. My stylist is STILL trying to repair the damage that caused the sides of my hair to fall out. If you cannot do blonde, don’t pretend y can! Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, ValueI had an 11:00 appointment with Pauline. She didn’t arrive until 11:15 so I sat and waited for her to saunter into the salon. She finally brings me back and goes to wash my hair. She puts some conditioner in and tells me to wait 2 minutes. She then proceeded to do her own hair and style and blow dry it for over 10 minutes while I’m sitting there waiting and watching her do her own hair. She finally comes over and finishes my hair then cuts it quickly and bliwdries it and starts speeding up for her next appointment that was there. She was rude a few times. I signed up and paid extra for a good experience 3she used that time to do her own freaking hair, not mine. My first and only time. Don’t go to Pauline. Not worth $50 at all!! Went to this salon for the first time and it was a great experience. Everyone there are so friendly and funny. The male stylist likes to play around with everyone to get a smile and a good laugh. My stylist was great. She really listen to what I wanted and she did everything I wanted. She was very knowledgeable about products when I asked questions, and when she didn’t know she found out the answer for the both of us. Going back for sure.

I brought someone here for services and the woman we had was very nice but the other people around the salon were not appropriate. Dropping f-bombs loudly, sitting around eating chips and talking about making people take shots. Also not very clean, they probably shouldn’t be sitting around when there are dirty counters and floors and sinks everywhere. Could really use some improvements & updates. Wouldn’t come here personally.

I have been going to JC Penney Salon for years and always have Nikki do my hair. She is fantastic! We have done lots of different colors, bleach, etc. and I am always happy with how it turns out. The salon is very friendly and everyone is always very nice. I would highly recommend going here! Also the prices are great and that is a big plus.

Clackamas salon. Avoid. Extremely Disappointed and embarrassed about how my hair looks in public. Asked for trim, “take nothing off length” but she trimmed and trimmed and trimmed it almost to nap of neck. Barely covers ears and sides not same at all. Seems like she had never cut hair before? Some Areas chopped too short for curling iron. Asked for weave, colored all over to roots so will have grow out, and not even color asked for. Cost. $90. Did they give me a beginner? So puzzled. Thought more experienced.

The JC Penny Salon is the BEST!! This salon is managed by Martin Schuurmans and he does an amazing job! He hires the greatest people and the salon is always clean and welcoming! Ariel is totally amazing, she always remembers me and things about my personal life that I would not expect her to remember … if we have talked about it she will ask how things are going and about the health of my family …WOW her customer service goes above and beyond, however, her expertise as a stylist is incredible!! My hair is always perfect after a visit with Ariel. I always notice how friendly all of the staff members are at this salon and I will never go anywhere else. I am so happy that I found this wonderful place to get my hair done … it feels like going home each time I arrive. As I always say to my colleagues when you have a great manager you will have great staff!! Great Job JC Penny Salon!!!

I have to say that my experience today with Pauline was horrible. I had to guide her to fix my hair. She was in a rush and didn’t know how to cut my hair. She had to ask 2 other employees how to do a hard line for my hair. She completely buzzed off the left part of my hair when I didn’t ask her to. Thankfully I work at a salon and they were able to save the day.

NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. Not kid friendly no matter what they tell you. They were 45 minutes late for my son’s appointment and visibly frustrated that my children were going to wait in the salon. They made me so uncomfortable we went for a walk around the store. The stylist we were scheduled with still wasn’t available when we got back so they gave us another girl who we watched pout about having to do it. She didn’t talk to my son or reassure him. She finished as fast as she could and immediately left for lunch. Once we got to the car I could see the mess she made of his bangs and had to take him back inside to get it fixed. The stylists at the counter said I would have to wait a half hour until our stylist came back from lunch. I told them that was unacceptable as we have already waited almost an hour on them and then they argued right in front of my kid over who had to cut his hair. We left. They weren’t touching my kid with that attitude. NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. Worst most immature service I have ever received in a salon. If I could give then zero stars I would.
