Best hair stylist in the tristate area. I live in Soho and I come all the way here because of Lucas’ attention to detail – best honey blonde in the game. If I can give this business a zero, I would. I am writing this review because this business does not honor it’s words. My friend, Alejandra purchased me a Groupon voucher for my birthday present so I drove an hour and half, waited an extra hour from my original hair appointment time to only be turned down and said they will not honor my Groupon voucher when the receptionist that booked me in the system said they will since it is a gift given to me. It is unfortunate because the only reason I mentioned Haus of Magnum to my friend, Alejandra to purchase for me as my birthday present and also got my friend, Nicole a haircut there for her Christmas present was because I knew Lukas and wanted to support his salon because it is fairly new. For someone that knows the owner, I am extremely upset how he and staff poorly handled this situation. In addition, the details or fine print on the voucher or site NEVER specifies, “first time customers only.” I tried to give Lukas the benefit of the doubt but he never even attempted to call and rectify this situation. I hope others have a better experience than I did, if they chose to give this salon a try. I personally will never go back or refer anyone to this salon again.

For a business to state that they do not operate on ‘reviews’ but rather on ‘word of mouth’ they have clearly underestimated the capacities to which ‘word of mouth’ may extend. I am about to demonstrate just that. I am writing this review out of pure disgust, after learning of what an appalling experience a dear colleague of mine recently had. In short, she had been a client of Haus of Magnum salon and so was gifted a voucher for a haircut to that location for her birthday which was purchased from Groupon. Fairly black-and-white, right? She should have gotten said service for the price of only whatever a tip would have been (as this was a purchase that was already made through a third-party whom which they are affiliated with) and she should have been on her merry way, right? Wrong. Apparently, according to Lucas M Moura, stylist and owner of Haus of Magnum, you must first judge customers based on the car they drive, the position they hold at work, and so on.

The salon was neat and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly. My hair dresser listened attentively to what I wanted. I had taken pictures to show her the look, I was aiming for and she delivered exactly that, but suitable for my face and hair. One negative though for me was they were very loud.
