I was scheduled with a nurse practitioner, Aileen Beamer, who was extremely rude. Due to construction traffic and a mixup of address, I was late (but arrived within the 15 min grace period), and called to give them a heads up. I was very apologetic, but then I HEARD her speaking negatively about me right outside the door where I was waiting to be seen. So I opened the door saying, “hey, I can hear you saying negative things about me!” but she never acknowledged her words or apologized for them. Then she rushed me the entire appointment, which lasted all of 5 minutes. After waiting for months to be seen, I had come prepared with a few questions but she just brushed them off and quickly referred me out to another specialist. Not to mention, she made offensive remarks about the discoloration of a scar that suggests she doesn’t often work with people of color or recognize the healing trajectory of melanated skin. If you go here, especially if you’re Black or brown, do yourself a favor and do not see Aileen Beamer!!! What a hurtful experience this was and I will not be back.

I’m going to try to help clear up some of the reviews here. I’ve been going here for a year or two, and the receptionist(s) named in the negative reviews no longer work there. The current receptionists are super nice and lovely people. Some other negative reviews mention difficulty scheduling appointments due to the office being busy – that’s a completely normal thing for almost any medical office and it would be quite hard to find one of a similar type without that issue. Another mentions the practice not accepting new patients unless there is a familial relation – again, super routine for any medical office. I personally cannot understand leaving a negative review based on the practice being full. I cannot speak for the other doctor(s) as I haven’t seen them, but Dr. Wendy Levinbook has always been super professional and knowledgeable.

Very disappointed in the lack of time and care from Dr. Kugelmen. I had a 2:45 pm appt and was out of the office at 2:49, and I had what was suppose to be a full body scan. She wasn’t going to check my scalp , I had to ask and when she did it wasn’t my entire scalp.

30 year client. Called with a medical emergency and was refused accommodation (Dr. Kugelman was unwilling to see me on short notice, i.e. within a few days time). I understand that it takes more than one day to book a normal appointment, and that has nothing to do with the fact that I called asking to be seen under a special arrangement due to acute symptoms. I’m crossing Hartford Dermatology off my recommendation list and am considering registering a formal complaint against the practice.

I’ve been going to Hartford Dermatology Associates for several years and have seen both Dr. Levinbook and Dr. Kugelman. They are both very knowledgeable, thorough and pleasant. The staff has always been professional and accommodating as well.

This office has always been very accommodating to me, including fitting me in when I had made a mistake about the time of my appointment. Dr. Kugelman has an eagle eye and is very thorough but efficient with time.
