I’ve been going to Harlem Zen since September, for laser hair removal. I’ve been seen by both Tracy and Cammi, who are both amazing. I would’ve given them 5 stars, however, after my second treatment, I noticed a difference in how long my results lasted (I saw hair growth way quicker), in comparison to my first treatment. I mentioned this at my third appointment, and was made aware that the business is no longer using the Express laser, and is using an older laser instead. I was very disappointed to hear this, seeing as though that’s the only reason why I initially purchased the laser hair removal package (& because they are a black owned facility) to begin with. I planned to continue treatments here, but will have to take my business elsewhere, if the Express laser is no longer going to be used. Hopefully it comes back.

I’ve been a laser gal for a few years and Tracy of Harlem Zen is who I needed in my life! A gift from my last pregnancy was thick unwanted facial hair and hyperpigmentation of my lower chin and neck area. After a diligent six months coupled with Tracy’s warmth, kindness and skill, by skin looks amazing AND the hair is 90% removed. I wanted to wait until I had enough treatments before writing a review. I am 5 sessions in and I can honestly say Harlem Zen works! I have noticed a major reduction in hair growth. I definitely recommend Tracey. She is thorough, knowledgeable, and efficient. On the Fitzpatrick scale, I am between type V & VI. As a black woman with coarse, stubborn hair, I definitely had my doubts. Not to mention my super sensitive skin and my extremely low pain tolerance lol. I can barely wax, shave, or tweeze (hair too curly and skin too sensitive) without issues, and I can only use hair remover if its designed for sensitive skin with no dyes and paraben free. However, hair sucks and I was determined to do whatever it takes until I found a solution. Even after all of the horror stories I read online around laser hair remover – especially for dark skin – I still had faith in science and technology. Harlem Zen IS that solution. I get the express treatments and I can honestly say I’ll be hairless before summer. Let this be your sign that it WILL work for you. Just make sure you get Tracey as your tech 🙂
