This establishment only utilizes its patients insurance to make sure that it’s pockets stay fat. And by this practice, I mean all Hamzavi Derms. Staff was friendly, but wasn’t impressed with service. I was there for acne on my face. The PA came in, asked questions and gave me a TX course…but never asked me to take off my mask to actually see the acne! I had to ask her if she wanted to see my face…um, hello! There was also a lot of confusion between the office, the pharmacy and myself as to the medication being prescribed due to the unexplained names of generic substitutes. The whole appt was very rushed. I gave them a second chance with the follow up visit, which was slighter better, but again felt rushed. As a new patient transferring from a different area, it would have been nice for someone to take the time to hand write or even email the TX plan as opposed to me having to remember everything and all the changes or medication subs. I feel like a number instead of a patient and I am looking for a new place to go.

My appointment was at 3:00. At 3:58 the Dr finally came in to treat my son. She apologized for the long wait. We have been to the office before and we have waited at least a 1/2 hour. I then stated that it was extremely frustrating to leave work early and pull my child from school early only to wait for an hour. I was told “I can’t clone myself, so you’ll have to deal with it.” I can’t deal with rudeness and disrespect, so I have made the follow up appointment that I was supposed to have with Hamzavi Dermatology with another dermatologist. I have been going to Hamazavi dermatology for close to 20 years. Dr Hamazavi would be so disappointed that the practice he worked so hard to build is being destroyed by a new doctor.

So disappointed!! Waited 2 months for an appt (booked and confirmed through their online system) and a text reminder was received 2 days before. I left work early to be on time for them, but waited an hour in the lobby! I was there as a new patient, looking to have regular skin checks and consultation for anti aging services. When I finally got called back, I was told that I was an “add on” because I didn’t have an appt and that the particular doctor that was seeing me would have to refer me out for any anti aging consultations or services. I left without seeing a doctor at all and I will be watching to make sure my insurance is not billed! This practice will not be getting any recommendations from me!!
