Kong did an excellent job on my wedding hair and makeup! I did a trial with her a few months before my wedding and she helped me figure out exactly what I wanted for the day of. She also gladly took feedback and adjusted what I wanted originally so everything was perfect for my wedding day! My makeup and hair lasted all day and looked amazing in my wedding photos. Highly recommended!

I can safely say that the bridal hair styles that Kong does can literally withstand hurricane wind speeds! We eloped this weekend and surprise, we brought a hurricane with us when we came up from New Jersey. I have never met Kong or did trial with her, but it was still such an inviting and comfortable atmosphere as if I’ve been there a million times. It was sunny on our wedding day but the wind was BRUTAL. I am shocked, impressed, and (dare I say it) blown away by the fact my hair withstood 3 hours in 30mph winds. Thank you so much!!

BEST DYE JOB EVER. I’ve been struggling to find a good colorist who knows how treat Asian hair for years and after multiple bad dye jobs that have left my hair fried/orange, I am so grateful to have found Kong. I was visiting from out of town this past summer and scheduled a haircut with Kong. I’ve had long hair forever, but wanted a big change and was having a hard time convincing my stylist back home to do it. Kong was awesome. Not only did she give me an incredible cut and style, I had fun while she was doing it. It happened to be just the two of us in the salon that day and it was like hanging out with a girlfriend chatting, except this one made my hair look great. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Portland!

I received the best haircut I’ve had in years from Kong. She gave me the perfect bangs and layers. She also curled my hair at the end and it looked fantastic. I booked Kong to do hair & makeup for my wedding, and she did an AMAZING job! I am a NYC girl married in Maine, and was looking for someone who would be unique/creative and high quality – Kong is all of those things! I visited Hair Etc. about a week before the wedding to get balayage highlights (which I was a little nervous about), but they turned out absolutely perfect and I am still loving the color! On the day of the wedding, Kong arrived early and singlehandedly did hair & airbrush makeup for my 3 bridesmaids, mom & me, and made it look easy! Kong knows what she’s doing and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a truly creative and professional stylist! I know I will be coming back to Hair Etc. to color my hair well after our wedding. 🙂

This was by far the best haircut/dye job/style I have gotten in my life, I am so grateful! I moved here from New York about 6 months ago and was nervous finding a new hairdresser, but from my experience here I will definitely be back. Not only is she personable and friendly, but she takes covid precautions seriously and makes you feel comfortable. On top of that, she talks you through the whole process and checks in with you along the way, as well as gives suggestions (which is very comforting to someone like me who knows nothing about hair). I went in for a balayage and a haircut. She talked me through how thick the balayage would be, how high up did I want to go, adding layers, blending it etc, so I felt at ease the whole time, and the end result was perfection! I also appreciate that she showed it to me straight before styling it, because a lot of times you can’t see imperfections when it’s curled, but even straight it looks amazing!
