I spent a LOT of time explaining my expectations. Two days later and I’m still so disappointed. My hair is significantly shorter than what we discussed in choppy and not blended. I left salon with my hair in such a way I couldn’t tell how bad the cut was. Pay to make them style your hair or don’t go.

Today was the last straw! Have used them a number of times since moving here (and used the company for years at my old location). A couple of months ago went and was met by a sign that said “closed early due to Covid”. Ok, that kind of thing happens, went back the next week and got a cut. Then, about 2 weeks ago, I pull up mid-afternoon on a Monday and find a sign saying “due to staffing issues closed Saturday to Tuesday”. Again, disappointing but OK. Then today, having learned my lesson, I went on the app. It said they were open today (Friday) until 5. It was 3:40 so I clicked the check in now icon and got confirmation that I was checked in (expected wait time was reported as 31 minutes). Drove to the shop, got to there a few minutes after 4, and was met at the door by an employee in the process of locking the door. She looked and me and said they closed at 4. I told her I had checked on line and it was confirmed, she said the system didn’t always update. I said so you don’t want me as a customer any more and her response was “sorry”. Left there, went to a locally owned shop, got a nice haircut from someone who appreciated my business. Won’t be going to Great Clips any more.

The lady who cut my hair never even took the time to section it off just combed it up and started cutting. I had decided to go short and so this is a mess I have had to live with for a while now. I wasn’t going to leave a review, but decided it needs to be said worst hair cut I’ve ever had. If you think you don’t have time for an appointment with someone who actually takes time to do it right ,I suggest you think twice about it before you go here.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueMy fiance chose this place to get his haircut for his birthday. He requested his ears trimmed up, the back of his neck fixed where he has little hairs that wont go in his bun, and his dead ends trimmed off. When he came back his ends were still dead, his hair around his ears looked TERRIBLE and he had a rat tail. I went to the salon with him the next day and asked the stylist, Kimberly, for a refund. And she said no because she did everything he wanted. I showed her the line she had left near one of his ears, she is looking right at it but, says she doesnt see anything. At that point my fiance and I left. Obviously she didnt care about fixing her mistakes. Just watch out. Oh then she follows us outside to get our tag and vehicle as if Im doing something illegal. Arrived after an hour drive and this Great Clips obviously sets its own hours of operation because of a hand written note on the door saying what days they would be closed. Guess what? Today was one of the days. Owner needs to stick with Franchise operating hours or close for good and open a shop in the back yard.

I think most of us are on the same page when it comes to chain hair salons like Great Clips. The simple fact is, we’d much rather use a locally owned business (barber) but, for whatever reason, our schedules prohibit us from frequenting a business that’s only open mon-fri 9-5. Even if they are open on Saturday, they’re so busy that it becomes a 2 hour affair to get a 10 minute trim.
