Let’s talk about a dream team!! Lacey and Danielle were such a treat to work with on the day of my wedding.My bridal party ended up getting ready at my house instead of on-site at the bridal suite and they were able to accommodate that request and were so professional the entire time. They brought everything they could possibly need and then some! Lacey and our wedding coordinator communicated leading up to the day of creating a timeline for the day-of and made the day so seamless and efficient that we actually had time after all the hair and make-up was done to relax and have some drinks before heading to the venue. Both Lacey and Danielle were outgoing and personable and were able to chat and talk to everyone in the wedding party. They put everyone at ease with makeup and hair styles and were able to create a variety of looks giving everyone what they were looking for. They left time at the end for touch ups and double checked before heading out that we had everything we needed.

I got my hair cut with Hannah. Not only is she an absolute joy to be around and talk to she did a great job on my hair. Since I have pretty fine hair she was willing to dry cut it first before washing/styling. I showed her pictures of what I was looking for. I felt like she listened and I left happy. I don’t get my hair cut very often but glad I got it done today. The decor of the office is so cute and city chic. You can get a coffee or tea. They offer some water or snacks if you want while you wait. More places should be like that.

I am so glad that I chose Grace Salon for the hair and makeup for my wedding. Not only were they affordable, but they matched (exceeded, in my opinion) the quality and service of the larger hair and makeup “names” you usually hear around the Richmond wedding scene. Lacey is such a sweetheart. Megan did the makeup for all my bridesmaids, and hair and makeup for me (bride) and my mom. My hair and makeup trial with Megan was great – she is also so sweet and easy to talk to. She always asked for feedback and made as many tweaks as I wanted to make sure I was happy with the look. Although we decided on a half up half down style, the week of my wedding it became clear that an unseasonably hot day meant I needed an updo after all. I emailed Lacey and she responded quickly with some inspo images, and on the wedding day Megan executed an absolutely perfect style. The style held all night through crazy dancing and lots of sweat! I got so many compliments. I would highly recommend hiring the Grace Salon ladies for any event or day to day look!

I have been going here the past few months, and initially went to get my blonde redone because I’ve been doing it myself but wanted a break from that ( they did a great job with this process) (I am a licensed cosmetologist of 6 years) they did my wedding hair and it was beautiful, however I wanted to do something fun.. so I went back. After getting my extensions done (and fixed because they were not tied securely the first round) I wanted to do a light blonde and natural black quad dye. After talking with my stylistand confirming what we were doing, I ended up with a blue/green based jet black in my hair, which was supposed to be a demi permanent color…. well… I ended up with a semi permanent color that bled completely into my blonde and ruined the color. Mind you I only use cold water to wash my hair, and I know how split dyes work..and I expected her to FILL my hair with a red or orange prior to putting the black color on… she bleached my roots, and directly put the jet black on top of it. Not only did it turn out muddy and ruined my blonde… my extensions after 3 days are coming undone. I was explained that I did not do as directed… which I did, washing with cold water and trying my best to keep the colors separated. I was told by Lacey that I did not care for it correctly, and she stood behind her stylists decisions… when I questioned her and have never met a professional to do the process in that way… especially with such a high contrast job. I am thankful for getting a refund in the process but this was the first time I’ve done something special for myself for my hair since shaving it all off and its quite literally ruined… and so are my extensions I spent over 300 dollars for. I’m highly disappointed. I do not recommend going here if you want a cool hair…. they seem to only care if you are getting a natural color done.

Obviously once they did not perceive you as their right customers (e.g., who have a high chance to be their loyal customers), they won’t care much about your perception about them. I understood when the stylist said that they didn’t “feel comfortable to do” the hair style that I described to them. Then after I went back home, I searched more pictures and tried to discuss with them again (I was thinking to change my mind try to different style, but when I talked to them, the front desk obviously don’t welcome me, and tend to keep words as less as possible in the conversation. From what I saw, it basically means you are passed, you are not our right customer; you should leave, we don’t want you. I didn’t expect this would happen, and that’s why I would want to came back to discuss with them, but totally disappointed after this conversation.
