I have a girl I ask for ..She has done my hair and eyebrows for the last few years and knows how I want them done..I very pleased. Brittany is her name and usually at the most if a wait time it is only 15-20 min..Plus they will call you if you don’t want to wait inside shop. .I recommend FANTASTIC SAMS..East Greenbush

We brought our 2 year old son here and had a good experience! They had lots of kids books and magazines to look at while we waited, which was only 5-10 minutes. The girls were really nice to our son, providing him with a toy to keep him occupied. The hair dresser did a really thorough job, making sure it was even. The price was reasonable, $13 for a boys haircut. I only have one small criticism.. My son has a MAJOR cowlick so I asked to keep his hair long on the top, only trimming with scissors. However, it came out much shorter than I would have liked. All in all, we left happy!

I have been going to this location for over 2 years now. My color and highlights always look great and I never get a bad cut. I am usually happy with my eyebrows following a wax. The staff is all very friendly and there is an atmosphere of comradery. True, there is no soft spa lighting or dabbling fountains but paying less than 50% for the same services as received elsewhere makes up for that loss.

Only reason I’m giving more than 1 star is because the young woman who cut my hair was very friendly, however – the layers she gave me are extremely choppy and don’t have a uniform length at the appropriate areas. They seem to be all different lengths all around my head. I told her how I wanted to be able to pin it back out of my face, but putting it up in a ponytail wasn’t a huge issue. At the end of the cut she said she had cut some pieces to frame my face, which is not what I asked for, and now I can’t even pin back my hair without pieces falling out into my eyes which is very irritating and exactly what I had mentioned I didn’t want to happen. My face is already quite round and I don’t have much of a jawline (something I have been very self conscious about) and this hair cut just accentuates it even more. For the first time ever I have actually been embarrassed to go outside or take pictures because I hate how much it looks. And because of the short layers, I can’t even get another cut to try and make it look better. I wanted a nice bob for fall and now I have to wait until it grows back out.

I am usually pleased with the cut and highlights. I do try to get the same one or two stylists though. If they are not working when I go I usually come back another time. I have been to private ‘salons’ and think that the stylists I use at Fantastic Sams are just as good.
