My youngest had never gotten his haircut before so I was worried he might be upset, but his stylist was great with him and made sure he was totally comfortable. My kids sat in an airplane for their haircut which they loved, and they got to watch TV to keep them entertained while they were in the chair. The shop was very clean and the staff was very nice to us and the kids. I took my sons to Cookie Cutters for the first time today and it was an amazing experience. My youngest had never gotten his haircut before so I was worried he might be upset, but his stylist was great with him and made sure he was totally comfortable. My kids sat in an airplane for their haircut which they loved, and they got to watch TV to keep them entertained while they were in the chair. The shop was very clean and the staff was very nice to us and the kids. Would definitely recommend Cookie Cutters!

When I looked at other reviews the hair is down to their ears but look at my little ones. I’m so angry with how it turned out we asked for a trim. Also my son didn’t move when she was by his ears. Great, cute haircut place for kids! It’s very attuned to what kids need — a fun car or vehicle to sit in for their haircut, a screen to play something in front and to secretly keep them looking straight, slides and toys to keep them busy while they wait, and lollipops and balloons when they finish. Thoughtful and cute!

Sorry but was disappointed with our experience at cookie cutters Algonquin. Brought in 2 girls for shampoo/cut and 1 boy for his first haircut. Neither stylist knew how to talk to or handle kids. When my niece mentioned that the water was too cold on her head she literally said the words “deal with it”. That was her vibe and attitude the whole time. My son was upset and nervous for his first cut. ZERO effort to interact with him or distract him. She just started cutting while he was crying and it turned out really bad. It gets worse every time I look at it. Why work at a kids only salon if you don’t even attempt to make the child feel comfortable? I don’t ever write reviews, but man I’m disappointed in the “experience” that this salon was suppose to have, and in the haircuts. So what’s the point?

Amanda listened carefully as I explained that I wanted my sons to grow on the longer side but needed a trim and clean up. She shaped his hair into place and mocked the photo I showed her to the best of her ability. This was the first time my 4 year old was not afraid of a stylist and sat content watching cartoons as they used scissors and clippers. We bought a Batman brush and learned of all their products. Thank you Amanda!

Bri (Bre?) was absolutely amazing with my 2.5-year old. She was so sweet and just knew how to talk to him. He did great for his haircut and I think that had a lot to do with the stylist! Oh, and his hair looks great 🙂 Kids’ cuts

The girl was nice that cut my grandsons hair on wed morning but when we got home I noticed a bald spot on the back of his head by his neck. Very disappointed & will not be going back there again.

I’ve been taking my son here the last 3 years, but the passed two times we’ve gone hasn’t been what I’m used to. We got the same hairstylist for our last two visits, the first time she completely hacked my sons hair in the middle, unfortunately I didn’t notice until we got home. So I did not want to use that same stylist again. Today we had an appointment, but didn’t have a choice on who cut my sons hairs. So we got the same girl as last time, and She cut it much better this time, but she does NOT take her time at all. She got the haircut done way too fast in my opinion. She also made my son, who is 5, cry. She used the clippers and was way too rough on him, went way to fast over his head. Normally my son has no problem getting his hair cut. I even mentioned maybe she was being too rough. Unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. My favorite stylist is Amanda but our schedules don’t always work out when she’s there.
