This place is an answer to prayer and a breath of fresh air. Sounds dramatic, but it’s true. I’ve had a couple of bad braiding experiences. Chel’s Hair Braiding is above and beyond the other places I’ve been. The stylists are very polite and communicative, they start ON TIME, and they are FAST! On top of that, the salon is clean, they use clean combs/supplies (I’ve been to places where they tried to use a dirty comb on me…had to stop them), and they offer snacks/beverages. They were able to squeeze me in for Marley Twists today and did a fantastic job. Even took extra care with my thinning area and gave me helpful suggestions/recommendations to consider for my next visit. I’ll definitely be back…and I highly recommend them!

I believe it was the owner who did my hair. She did an excellent job on my crochet braids. I came from out of town in September. She told me how to take care of the crochet braids so they could last long. These braids were well installed. They never came out during the 2 1/2 months that they were in my hair. The salon was very clean. I will definitely be back and tell all my family friends about this salon.

My first time visiting Chel’s Hair Braiding was this past week, and I must say I was very pleased with the overall service and outcome. They were very polite, professional, and took care when styling my hair, the hair wasn’t installed too tight or too heavy. As a matter of fact, my stylist told me she would refrain from using as much hair as she normally would for the hairstyle to avoid too much weight on my tresses that could potentially damage my hair. I really appreciated that! I will definitely be returning & referring more people to Chel’s Hair Braiding.

I first visited this business during Summer 2022 with my granddaughter who loved the personalized service and attention so we returned January 2023 for more braids. The owner provided quality, professional and special attention to ensure the services were satisfactory. We were both happy with all levels of service from prep to finish. We will be returning to Chel’s for future hair needs. The price, cleanliness and location were superb.

This shop is great. Clean and welcoming place. Scheduling and payment went pretty well. They were even able to take me in the day before my actual appointment! I believe that Sylvia (the shop owner) did my hair. For small Senegalese twists, it took only 3.5 hours. Sylvia was the main one on my hair and towards the end, there were 3 ladies doing my hair at once. Sylvia did well in crafting my style to my hair type (my hair is very fine). And she was careful with my edges lol. As a foodie, it was a plus that I was offered water and snacks (never had that happen before). I’ll definitely be back again!

Very happy with my experience with Chel’s Hair Braiding! The salon was clean and quiet. The braiders were attentive and personable. I got the exact style I was hoping for, and the salon provided the hair at a small additional cost. Braids were very comfortable from day 1; it’s been 2 days since and they are now 100% flexible and painless. I just recommend having lots of pictures handy for the exact length and style you’re looking for.

I’ve been going to Ms.Sylvia to get my braids and twists done for a long time. You can bring in your own hair or she offers the braiding hair (Xpression for when I get braids and Senegalese twists done, for any other style I’d recommend asking beforehand) and always meets the style you want from when you send it for consultation and even when you get in the day of the appointment, just in case you change your mind or want a second opinion.
