Alex cut my hair from waist-length to just below my shoulders. before starting, she listened to everything I wanted and repeated it back so I knew we were on the same page. She did a phenomenal cut, then took the time to blow out my very curly hair. I never leave the salon satisfied with how my hair looks because stylists often give up when they find my hair difficult to work with- but not Alex! I can’t recommend her enough and my cut looks great.

Alex has been doing my hair since I moved to NC 4 years ago. She’s awesome! I have very thick hair with just enough wave to make it unruly. I wear it short and it has to be cut and thinned just right or I have to battle with it each morning. Not just any stylist can work with it, but Alex does a wonderful job! I recently had a major haircut and color and was absolutely impressed with the experience. Sarah was fantastic and really took a lot of time (but not excessive; she was thorough but efficient) to make sure I she knew exactly what I wanted. We had to strip my hair and then dye it and she explained all the steps of the process and what was happening to the hairs and what would happen next. It was probably the best dye I’ve ever had. I absolutely love the cut! I went from waist-length hair to above-the-shoulders and LOVE how it looks! I was even sent home with my pony tails in case I could find a charity that took dyed hair (Children With Hair Loss, in Michigan). I will definitely be recommending AND returning! Sarah was fantastic! Alex and the owner were there as well and seemed very nice and responsive.

Critical: ValueI recently wrote a review which was unfavorable because of what I thought I was charged for services I didn’t understand to be extras. I had called to speak to the manager but never heard back. After I posted the review I quickly heard from the manager Kelly. She explained that she did not receive the message. She immediately apologized and asked how to remedy the situation. She offered me a refund for the extra services. She was very pleasant and was very accommodating in solving the problem. I recently wrote a review which was unfavorable because of what I thought I was charged for services I didn’t understand to be extras. I had called to speak to the manager but never heard back. After I posted the review I quickly heard from the manager Kelly. She explained that she did not receive the message. She immediately apologized and asked how to remedy the situation. 9.19.19. Update: I had my latest cut with Sarah and I’m still happy with the results. Sarah is great and really does what you want. I really like my hair cut! I saw Sarah on Tuesday .7.17.18. I had a hair cut a couple of weeks earlier by another stylist. I was not happy with the prior cut. I told Sarah what had happened and what was wanted. She was very thorough and took time to explain what she was doing and why. It was exactly what I was looking for. I have thin hair and it’s semi wavy. She did a great job, was very kind and I am happy to have found her. It feels like a high end cut at a comfortable price point!

Great salon, convenient to Governors Club. Alex easily matched the color I had been getting at a pricey North Raleigh salon before moving to this area, and the cuts and styling have been excellent too. Calm, relaxing atmosphere and very reasonably priced! 2021 update: still going here, still loving it. Thanks Alex and Sarah!!!

We just had the best experience here for my 1 year old’s first hair cut! We heard about Kelly and this salon from a local parents’ group (SDPP) and decided to check her out. She was wonderful, patient, funny and great with kids. Our kid was very clingy and slow to warm up, but she totally worked with us and by the end he was smiling and clapping. Hair cut itself was perfect. Thank you Kelly! We’ll be back ☺️

Given its close proximity to my house, I decided to give Blue Bamboo a try. I’m so glad I did! Every cut I’ve had has been outstanding and at a much better price than other salons I’ve tried. We are lucky to have this gem of a salon right in our neighborhood! Definitely worth checking out ladies!
