Avenue, Liz Stricker Salon is an ORIBE exclusive salon. The only salon in the Florida keys that carries the products for retail by Oribe-educated stylists. Liz Stricker and staff are certified in hand tied, I-tip, and K-tip extensions. We pride ourselves in beachy, bright blondes that give you a healthy glow, but we are also happy to do regular root touch ups if that’s what you need. Lydia is the go-to girl for men’s hair and I tip/k tip extensions and move ups-she’s fast and focused. Rachel is our highlight and updo genius. She also a massage therapist and gives the best shampoos. If you would like to get your nails done, you can book online or text Diana, our nail tech, directly at +1 (305) 240-7835.

Liz was incredible! The best way to describe Avenue Salon is a modern day Steel Magnolia’s Beauty Salon. The decor and walls are gorgeous, the stylists are kind and attentive, and it is a safe place for women to just be themselves and chat. The most important thing though is that I left feeling more confident than ever with my new highlights and lowlights and for the first time ever, extensions. Thank you Liz for such a great experience! ❤️

This is my first less than optimal review because I just don’t like writing negative reviews but I had mixed feelings about my experience at Liz Strickler salon. I’ll start with the positives…I liked the convenience of being able to book online and their availability was great given the short notice. Their services are clearly explained on their website; I picked the Root retouch (color only) $75 which does not include a cut and/or blow dry. I received a text that my appointment was being reviewed and the next day a confirmation that my appointment was accepted and also confirming the service was strictly root color only. To book the appointment I had to provide my credit card number and the total amount was for the $75 service. The next morning I was walking to my appointment and realized I didn’t have my credit card with me so I called the salon and they informed me that unfortunately they don’t have access to the payment information I entered and they don’t accept Apple Pay. It was my mistake to walk out without my wallet so I said no problem, I’ll grab it and see you at 11. Lydia was my colorist and she was very pleasant and kind, made some small talk, the usual. I had provided her with the formula from my local colorist. Originally, I’ve gotten the regular root color (not express) using this same formula so this time when Lydia said it would just be 15 minutes, I thought she might have given me the express option. When it was time to pay, I noticed the total was $90 and I questioned it; Lydia said the formula I provided was for express color and that’s why the price difference. I decided not to make a big deal over $15 and tipped 20%. When I went home, I started blow drying my hair and noticed that some grey was not covered. Again not really wanting to make it an issue, I thought it was just a couple of spots but as I kept going and finished 30 minutes later, I noticed other areas. I called the salon and explained the situation. Lydia offered to see me on her day off (Monday at 11) or see me that same day. I decided to just get it done so she wouldn’t have to come in on her day off just for me. So I walked back to the salon which is a good 20 minutes there and back, plus I had already spent 30 minutes blow drying my hair and I wasn’t going to ask her to do it for me even though it was her mistake. The issue I had was that at no point was there an apology for the inconvenience. I canceled plans to be able to try this again and it just seemed like I was inconveniencing the colorist. I was talking to her and she didn’t acknowledge what I was saying and it was uncomfortable. I ended up apologizing and thanking her instead, actually. She asked if I wanted to check but I just wanted to be done with it and that’s not the experience I want to have when I get my hair done.

I made an appointment for a full head of hand tied extensions. Liz picked out hair to match mine and ordered it, which took about a week. If you’re interested in extensions you should bring food and water with you to your appointment, it does take a while. Definitely worth the time spent. Youll feel like a new person, trust me.
