I went for an SNS powder manicure, which I’ve had done before elsewhere out of town and was really really happy with. At this place though they buffed my nails with that grinder thing before applying the powder, that was not done at the other location. My nails lasted about a month at the other location so I know its not needed. After further research I’ve learned I need to insist that they don’t destroy my nail before dipping in powder. SHOULDN’T THEY KNOW THIS? I’m afraid to see what my nails look like when these are removed. Also, they applied gel after the powder! They didn’t ask. I thought it was just a top coat or something they do until I looked closer at the bottle that said GEL and then they had me put my hand in the blue light. That defeats the whole purpose of getting fast-drying durable powder! The tops of my powder nails are now soft and ‘gelly’ and already have little chips in them after less than a week. I HATE it. I need to find another local place that knows how to do powder. I don’t want to have to teach a certified nail technician how, completely ridiculous!… Also, after I was done my nail tech disappeared into the back for like 10 minutes and everyone else there ignored me until finally someone took pity and checked me out. The more I think about it, the less I want to go back. Too bad, they are super close to my house.
