Today was my first visit to 401 West and every part of the experience was wonderful. I have super curly hair and often struggle to find someone capable of giving me the fullness and volume I’ve been looking for. Marcy was able to get me in last minute and knew exactly what to do with my hair type. I haven’t seen this kind of volume in a long time, and the entire staff was super kind and friendly! Not to mention how affordable it was compared to a lot of other devalcurl cuts. For everyone looking for a new salon, especially those with curly hair, Marcy and 401 West is the place for you! I had an appointment for 6 weeks to get my hair done with my brides maids for my wedding. The day before I was notified that the girl scheduled to me, could not be there. We were passed to other people and were given chop jobs . All of us were very unhappy. Ruined my wedding!!!

I didn’t want to write this because I’ve always had such a positive experience with all the staff and I feel bad writing a bad review. But, my hair is completely RUINED. I’ve been in the process of going lighter for a few months now and I’ve had a good experience each time I’ve come to the salon but during my most recent trip, my hair ended up completely fried. It’s not just the ends of my hair either, there is damage all the way up to the root. I have always had very thick hair but I have now lost more than half of that thickness. There is no way of restoring my hair’s health and my only option is to wait for it to grow out or shave it off completely. I am especially upset because I had spent the past year growing my hair so it was healthy enough to go lighter, I am now worse off than I was a year ago. I was not charged for the services but I have spent more money on products to try to maintain some of my hair’s integrity than I would’ve spent if my hair was done right. I can not use any heat on my hair due to concerns of it breaking off so the only way to make it look halfway decent is to put it in a low bun. The stylist played it off like this would be something that could get better in a month but she did not even feel comfortable blow drying my hair. I was sent home with sopping wet hair that took over 12 hours to fully dry because it is so porous. This is not something that a quick trim will fix, I will now be dealing with this for at least the next year.

I Went To A Hair Salon Called 401 West In Galloway NJ . Yesterday I Was Very Excited To Get My Cut And Use The Deva Products In My Hair . I Also Went For Coloring. The Stylist Did Not Cut My Hair Even , And She Did Not Tell Me About Any Of The Products , She Said “Mixed Chicks” Is A Good Product I Should Use That. She Didn’t Know Anything About My Hair Texture, Or How To Style It. It Was Very Frustating And I Left With Highlights, Which I Said In The Beginning I Hated . I Called The Salon Requesting A Refund , And They Said They Couldn’t Give Me One I Spent $140 On Nothing !!! I Don’t Want To Go Back , I Just Want My Money Back
