Zeus Barbershop

Positive: Cleanliness, QualityI’m a big believer in supporting local, small businesses, and as such I think it’s important to provide HELPFUL and THOROUGH feedback so that they can continue to make their business the best it can be.For this barber shop I’m giving it 4 stars because I think of stars in terms of grades A-D.So today, I have to give Zeus Barbershop a B (4 stars) because while it is a nice shop with top quality cuts, there is room for improvement.Praises:-The atmosphere is EXCELLENT. When you walk in, it’ smells very nice, very manly, definitely a barber shop. .-It’s unique in that the barber’s stations are tool boxes with air compressors to blow off the hair. Very cool – The receptionist offered me a bottle of water while I waited for my husband. Nice touch – Quality of haircut was EXCEPTIONAL . I watched 6 other men (I’ll get to this in a moment) get their hair cut/beards trimmed, and in my opinion they all walked out looking very clean, trimmed, and neat. Room for Improvement:-Time. Mostly this applied to the individual stylist my husband had. I called ahead and made an appointment for 10:45am. We arrived about 10:20. Now, If I arrive before my appointment time, I have absolutely no problem waiting for my turn. But when my (husband’s) turn has come and gone, and I (we) are still sitting there almost 30min past 10:45, my patience starts to wear thin. There were 2 other barbers in there at the time of our visit. And in 1hour and 20 min, the duration of our visit, the other 2 barbers EACH individually sat and finished 3 patrons. While my husband’s stylist finished 1.Now to her credit it’s not because she was on her phone or talking (I would have said something), it’s simply that she works very slow.Again, the quality of her work was EXCELLENT. My husband and I (for that matter) were very pleased with the quality of her work. And while I’m not advocating for a rush/sloppy job, the speed at which we were served, left something to be desired.For me, it’s a matter of RESPECTING a customer’s time. No one wants to sit in the barbershop for and 1hr and half, especially when you have to watch 6 other people come and go before them.Perhaps she’s new and inexperienced, to which she will improve with more practice. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?So I recommend her for a QUALITY job. She’ll do you right. ☺️ But, make sure you have the time to wait.Also, nothing was said to us. For me, a “we’ll be right with you, Sir” or “It will just be another 10min, Sir” goes a long way for appeasing me to sit and continue to wait. But no acknowledgement, makes me feel invisible or unimportant.Overall, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this shop.
