The massage itself was excellent. But the front desk service was outrageous! I paid, tipped, and left, and the woman came running OUTSIDE AFTER ME!!!!!! to demand that I tip $20 instead of $15. She obviously doesn’t understand that a TIP is at the discretion of the customer. This happened a couple of years ago and I’ve never gone back. But the place across the street (435 Spa), which I believe is run by the same family, is staffed by a very nice man who is professional, friendly and courteous. And the massage therapists there are absolutely fabulous.

First time returning since they remodeled. My wife and I LOVE the acupressure massage. We used to be in a room together but now are in separate rooms. You get 60 minutes of rubbing starting from head to toes. Only complaint is for both of us is they seemed to stay in one spot rubbing too long. Need to roam more. Prices have jumped to where it is no longer a great deal but with the visit. They really push the “ you pay cash” so I’m guessing they don’t have to report it?

I was given a gift certificate to this business for Christmas. When I arrived, per a big sign at the front desk I realized I would be paying the tip (minimum $20) (which the gift certificate specifically says is not included) but then the man at the front desk says they had a price increase in January and I would need to pay the difference.

So I’ve been here 2 . The first time really good but couldn’t request the same person which I though was strange but their rules . I got a 150 dollar massage as a gift it was horrible the lady kept rubbing on my bones with her elbow instead of my muscles. When she did my feet she rub the top bones who does that. I complain to the lady and she said thanks for telling her .that’s 150 done the drain eventhough it was a gift I won’t go there again, why would benicia have a place like this

I seriously agonized over my decision to go to this place because of the bad reviews. However, I decided to book a 90-minute couples massage for my husband and I for Valentine’s Day because I wanted to get massages close to home. From reading the reviews, I knew to take cash plus 30% for tip. I am happy to report our massages were absolutely fantastic, and the couples room was very cute and nice. Calculate the price plus 30% and decide if that’s worth it for you. We decided to go for it, and I am VERY glad we did. We will be back.
