I was recommended to this salon by several friends. It was my first time getting a balayage and first time getting my hair bleached. The place was not only overpriced but also didn’t do its job right. My hair was not bleached properly the first time because it was done by an intern. He was so slow and didn’t spread the bleach properly on my hair. Another stylist had to reapply the bleach. The bleached hair came out too light. I wanted a honey brown color (the first picture). But I got the color of the second picture. Later I went back again for a fix. But the color faded back to the color I got the first time after three washes. It was a bad experience overall.

Disappointed is an understatement. I wish I went somewhere else with my hair. Kevin only looked at my hair and from there on just like everyone else, two people who did not speak at all just did everything else. I paid almost $530 for my hair WITH THE DISCOUNT. For that amount of money I could have had someone else do it with better quality and without thinning my hair. I literally had thick hair. And I told them not to thin it out. But they did it anyways. Honestly I wish I never came here. Your hair will look nice for the initial 2 weeks and then after you will see how horrible it is. DON’T trust Instagram. The staff, the price and the customer service was extremely lacking.

THIS PLACE IS TRASH STAY AWAY. IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS EXPERIENCE. THEY RUIN YOUR HAIR AND MAKE IT FALL OUT COMPLETELY!I’ve bleached my hair before more than once and of course it did a little damage but whatever this place did absolutely ruined my hair. there is no fixing it, i have to just regrow it all over again. the amount of bleach they used was insane and as soon as they took it off my hair immediately started to shed. i walked out of there with like no hair left on my head. not to mention the fact that they said i could opt out of the treatment for less money but they failed to mention the amount of damage it would do to my hair. and they completely did not even give me the color i asked for. i asked for a dark blonde and they gave me gray hair on top and completely yellow blonde on the bottom. i was so disappointed with their services and honestly not a very friendly staff overall. if you don’t have a lot of money they treat you like you’re nothing. place is absolutely ridiculously priced. i don’t recommend going here at all. if i go back in time i would never walk into that place.

Horrible experience! Stay away from this place, they use low cost products. I had abundant hair and they almost left me with no hair at all. They spent 40 mins untangling my hair after a balayage and damaged my hair. They are more concern on explaining there overpriced fees then the results you would like to achieve. Not to mention its multiple people jumping around working on your hair.

i have been to Xcellent a year ago and loved my hair. My only problem was that it was far away and a little pricy. I found a salon near my house that obliterated my hair on a Wednesday. My hair was yellow with patches of green, harsh lines, botched job, and everything was a complete disaster. (before and after photos are posted) The only thing on my mind was, “i should’ve never cheated on Kevin!”

Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueFurious is a massive understatement… I stumbled upon Xcellent Hair Square on instagram after searching for somewhere to make a balayage appointment. Kevins photos looked beautiful so I figured paying the higher end prices would be worth it. I made an appointment a month and a half in advance with Kevin. Upon arriving on Saturday morning at 9:45 for a 10 AM appointment I had my VERY brief “consultation” with Kevin for 30 seconds. I showed him my reference pictures and that was the last time I’d be seeing him for the next 7 hours. 2 unintroduced individuals began bleaching my hair; it then processed for an hour and a half… and then an additional 2 hours when “the color didn’t lift”… Nobody spoke to me the entire 7 hours of my coloring and when I began to ask questions the two individuals told me they didn’t speak English and didn’t understand me. There was NO COMMUNICATION. If I was told there was an issue with the lifting of color to get the outcome I wanted we could have switched game plans. When the toner was finally applied, my hair turned green and the bleached areas were about 2 1/2 inches shorter than my original hair length due to EXTREME damage (not I don’t have layers, the bleach broke my hair). When I insisted Kevin come speak to me it was apparent he knew how bad it looked and gave me a card to return for a free toning session. After spending 9 HOURS in the salon chair for a balayage I walked out with wet, green, beyond destroyed hair, crying and having paid $400 dollars. For the next 3 weeks there were about 6 conversations via telephone with Kevin and his fellow partner at another salon location. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. After sending pictures of my hair they chose not to refund me. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen a business treat their customers the way I was treated and I am NEVER one to complain.
