20s male and got a completely botched haircut. Worst I’ve had in 10 years. I went down the street to a barbershop who ended up not even charging me to spend 20 minutes fixing it because they felt so bad. Neck wasn’t trimmed, hairline wasn’t cut, it was cut way too short, no attention to detail, etc. She is near retirement age and it’s clear she needs to hang it up. I’ve had bad haircuts but they’re at least passable. This was the first time I literally had to have another barber fix it for me. I’m not going to name drop but any young male needs to stay far away. I cannot believe I tipped 6 dollars but their awkward tipping service guilts you into leaving a 30% tip.

Highly recommend this Salon in Nokomis that has a great vibe , clean, and friendly staff and reasonable prices . Renee does a great job with my hair styles & Smoothing treatment ~ Inca Glow. For a customer who has a hard time with commitments / scheduling ~It’s nice to have a stylist with last minute/even same day availability. Thanks for all you do Renee!

So this review is all about the wonky tip approach. Because of “bookkeeping”, they want you to perform two separate transactions for the cut and then the tip. It’s a hassle and makes no sense that all other places where I leave a tip, it can be done in the same transaction. And to make matters worse, the haircut transaction prompts you for a tip. I was told in an “emergency” this can be used. Ok, if you want to encourage cash tips, just say that and do it. Not this crazy system!

Lori is my new go-to stylist!! She’s talented with very short hairstyles because she used to wear hers ultra-short too. I have always had a hard time finding someone who knew how to cut short, stylish, funky hairstyles, but I found her! She’s a rare gem who knows her skills perfectly. I never have to add my own little touches once at home, it’s always perfect. My appointments are quick and easy, and I don’t usually don’t have to wait long at all. The salon is beautiful, open concept, and recently remodeled. I love the down to earth pricing that is so rare in Sarasota! I can finally justify a monthly haircut and not break the bank. My hair is short enough to not need any blowdry/style after, so my cost is only $22 at this time. I cannot recommend this salon and stylist more!!!

I arrived for my 11:30 appointment around 11:23 when I was greeted by another stylist who told me there was a person ahead of me and that it would take 15 minutes for them to finish, and kept insisting that they take me instead of my scheduled stylist. Being polite I obliged their offer after they told me they could perform the haircut that I requested. I told them that I wanted to clean up my hair and I was growing it out, and I did not want to hinder my progress. Before I knew it, thinning shears were used on the entirety of my scalp before I realized what was happening. I requested the sides and back to be focused on but the thinning shears on the top of my head were what seemed to be the favorite. I think what they were trying to do was make my hair less heavy as my hair is naturally very thick, but that is not at all what I wanted, and they did not ask me beforehand. I was out the door at 11:35, which was not the focus and precision I wanted on my hair, instead of the rushed out the door type of service. I do not know how long it will take for my hair to grow thick again, maybe a few weeks before it starts going back to normal at the base. I am already anxious about my hair growth, so I am mad at myself for being too nervous to say anything. I would’ve been happy to pay more for a more precise fine tuned service, but no amount of money can fix my hair now.

I had to change my old review from a 5 star to a 2 star. I was in about 1 week ago to have my hair highlighted as I am trying to let the gray grow out. I spent $118 and got a dye job. An ugly copper color.Not at all what I wanted. I called and went back. She said she rinsed the color out but it’s still there. Going to another company tomorrow to get it fixed. Probably gotta start all over..

The salon was very nice. I let my hair grow about to my jawline so i could get a short modern style. I asked several times several times several times do not cut it round please do not cut it to look round…i got round round round. I have curly hair if it is cut the same length all around it looks round like a poodle. The one thing i asked not to do..round..is what i got. I will never recommend anyone to go there for a short modern style. Round .. is what i got. Very upsetting. Now i have to wait 6 months to get it where i started.
