K’jana is an excellent stylist. Very efficient, confident, doesn’t waste time, and you get exactly what you ask for. She’s consistent, very nice, and mannerable, and does excellent sew-ins.

Critical: ProfessionalismI went the the Weave Cafe this morning. I spoke w/ the stylist the day before and told her wanted. I asked for the total price. I was quoted $165. When my hair was finished the stylist said my total was $265. I said that’s not the price you quoted me in the text message yesterday. She said, “I’m gonna have to remove the hair then.” I said no yiu are not because I paid you what you asked. As I went to leave the salon she ran and locked the door. She and another stylist both said, “I will “F” you up if you try to leave because you are stealing. I was so embarrassed because I have NEVER stolen anything in my life. I had to push her out of the way in order to leave. She kept locking the door. I was finally able to unlock the door and exit. As I was leaving, the two stylist and the one nail technician that was in the salon said they were going to call the police. I didn’t care because I had proof of what price I was quoted in my text messages. They all followed me to my car as I pulled off and left they took pictures. I was very disgusted and glad I didn’t do anything crazy to any of them. These young women were the most unprofessional people I’ve EVER encountered. I had been there several times in the past and liked the service I received. However, the person who original referred me as well as the five others I’ve referred have all decided never to patronize this business again.Service: Hair extensionsI went the the Weave Cafe this morning. This is the second time I’ve had this experience, so I figured I would write a review explaining why I will not be returning. I am in a profession where I need straight hair, so on occasion I will opt for a sew in. Because I am natural, I do not like my hair braided tightly because it can damage your hair. This is a concept they don’t understand. I asked three times to ask my to have my hair braided tightly, and my stylist even wrote it on my card. However my braids were still entirely too tight. She explained to me that she was going to put a net on, and the net would make it even tighter. When I asked if it was necessary, she said yes.

I went to the weave cafe because my beautician couldn’t make it home from college the weekend I needed my hair done. I was excited because I’ve heard good things about this establishment. I like the order of how they take clients. The braiding of my hair went well despite the unprofessional and inappropriate conversation going on around me. Installation went well as far as quality. A customer knocked over a drink belonging to the technician who was doing my hair. The drink spilled on my weave and nothing was done to clean my hair, not even an attempt. I dismissed it because I was appalled by the an on going conversation and I was running late for work. I didn’t like the closure of my weave, it was painful and complicated for no reason. To top it off my closure wouldn’t lay down. I didn’t get my weave styled not only because I was in a rush but I didn’t like the styles of other clients. Overall, I would not return. I’ve had better experiences that were cheaper.

I recently went here for the first time and I must admit after reading some of the reviews I was a little skeptical but I must honestly say it was one of the best experiences! From the guy at the front who answered my” 50 million questions” to all of the stylist.. everyone was pleasant and professional. Although everyone was great I have to acknowledge the three people who worked on me; Ashley who braided my hair first and had great conversation, shadea who hooked my color up and had everybody asking about it, and John who actually did my sew in and style..He “Slayed” it while blessing me with his beautiful voice and kept me laughing the whole time! I will definitely be going back and recommend this place to anyone who is looking for quick, skilled and Professional Services 🙂

This is my second time back to the Weave Cafe in Pikesville. My first time was in May and I was serviced by Ras (who is no longer there). I was particularly pleased with how long the installation lasted without touch ups (10 weeks). I am equally impressed with my visit today in August. Precious did not braid my hair too tight as most tend to do. Brittany did a thorough job with my closure piece. And Chanel absolutely slayed my straight style. I was in and out in 2.5 hours just like the last time. I recommend this shop for patrons who like prompt, polished and professional looks.

Critical: Professionalism, ValueI have been going to Weave Cafe for YEARS to the point, I did not have a secondary stylist. The Weave Cafe’s policy has always been 1st come, 1st serve. Well the day before my birthday, learned that, that policy has CHANGED && my stylist of YEARS now requires you book an appointment that does not match salon pricing nor is it affiliated w The Weave Cafe when you book him. Ok, so after being left hanging by my long time weave stylist I was left trying to figure out where I could go to get my weave installed. I recently had brain surgery and was still healing and my hair was still growing out from where a significant portion of it had been shaved for the surgery, so I was trying to find something to do with it during the in between time.

I left my daughter to get her hair done. When I left her the price was $175. I brought the hair from them prior and I had to go up the street for closure. When I picked her up they had charged me $225. I was told it was $50 to curl the hair. They are toooo expensive. To top it off you could see the material clearly in the closure he told me to buy. The stylist afterwards said we should have gotten a different kind. This is the second bad experience and the last since the regular stylist we liked is not there anymore.
