She’s very friendly, bubbly and professional. Throughout the entire haircut she would take time to ask my opinion and alter anything that needed changing until my hair was perfect. Kayla is AMAZING. I went in with photos and ideas for my hair and she cut my hair even better than I was imagining. She’s very friendly, bubbly and professional. Throughout the entire haircut she would take time to ask my opinion and alter anything that needed changing until my hair was perfect. The salon was clean and relaxing and I will definitely be going back.

Critical: QualityI don’t usually do this since I myself am a business owner. However my experience with Kayla whom rents a chair at Waves in Pacifica really ruined my hair. I went in there with the sole purpose of having her correct the color in my hair which had a lot of Blonde in it and a haircut. I SPECIFICALLY said I did not want RED in my hair. When I left there it did have a cast of burgundy in it. Kayla said oh i see red in it. She said I can correct that however I had been there already for Four hours and had spent $230.00 for that procedure and $90.00 on product. I went home after a few weeks and I only wash my hair once a week. By that time it turned Orange red. I went to see her and she wanted to charge me another $75.00 to correct HER mistake. When I got there she acknowledged all the red and said she would take care of it at her cost. As I went home she texted and said I’m sorry you’ll have to pay for it. I’m a Dog Groomer and if ever I had a customer who let’s say the haircut for example was too long. I at my cost would ENSURE that every customer I have leaves with smile at my cost. Kayla was a disappointment she didn’t even offer to split the cost. At that point I realized I was not going to give her another chance since she had already damaged my hair. I normally don’t put reviews online that often but when I have an awesome experience, I want people to know it. Kayla Sanders at Waves is so awesome! She was professional, listened to what I wanted, and her experience with color and highlighting is hands down the best! I love my hair every time she does it. She makes suggestions to try new things, she is creative, and she does her absolute best because it is important to her that her clients walk out happy. Thank you, Kayla! My boyfriend and I refuse to go anywhere else because of the high quality service and attention to needs and detail. Not only will you get the best standards for your hair but the staff here treat you like family and make you feel welcome. I am incredible picky and she nailed the cut, and in particular, the fringe (aka bangs). I’ve almost never had a stylist get the bangs so beautifully on the first try. I used to drive all the way to a Sassoon salon in SF, but no more–I’ll just be going to see Gretel (who is Sassoon trained!). 5 stars on technique and experience. All the awesomeness of Sassoon with a gregarious and incredibly sweet stylist in Pacifica. Can’t wait to go back.Also, I can’t have any product in my hair and use special shampoo due to allergies, and Gretel was still able to style my hair beautifully. Blow out lasted for days after. I had a fantastic experience at Waves, with Gretel as my stylist. If you’re on the fence, just book an appointment. I am incredible picky and she nailed the cut, and in particular, the fringe (aka bangs). I’ve almost never had a stylist get the bangs so beautifully on the first try. I used to drive all the way to a Sassoon salon in SF, but no more–I’ll just be going to see Gretel (who is Sassoon trained!). 5 stars on technique and experience. All the awesomeness of Sassoon with a gregarious and incredibly sweet stylist in Pacifica. Can’t wait to go back.

She’s nursed my hair back to health since then, which was no easy feat!Simply put, Gretel is AMAZING. I’m so thrilled to have followed her to Waves Salon! She’s been cutting, coloring, and treating my mane for the past 2 years now and I was lost without her when COVID hit. When she told me she had opened her own salon in Pacifica, I was so super thankful and booked my appointment ASAP.A few things about her…1. First and foremost, Gretel is always able to nail the style of cut I want. I’m particular about my face frame so it’s slimming and she gets it right every time! Since I know she just *gets* me, I feel relaxed just letting her do her thing when I used to be pretty anxious about getting haircuts. She knows that healthy hair is paramount!2. She is super gentle when she detangles my long tangly hair. Lemme tell ya, it takes PATIENCE.3.
